🎉Happy Veterinary Assistant Week!! 🎉
Let’s talk about a role that makes everything happen...
Veterinary assistants keep the day moving, the patients supported, the clients reassured, and the team grounded. They are the ones jumping in before being asked, learning on the fly, and showing up again and again with heart 💙
And we are going to say this louder for the people in the back:
👏 Assistant is not a bad word 👏
It does not mean less skilled, less valuable, or less important.
It means essential.
It means trusted.
It means you are part of the foundation that vet med is built on.
You are:
💫 Patient advocates
💫 Team connectors
💫 Skill builders
💫 Calm in the chaos
We believe every role deserves respect, opportunity, and a clear path forward.
Veterinary assistants are not an afterthought.
They are a critical part of the team and the future of this profession.
So this week, we celebrate YOU 🫶
Empowering Veterinary Teams - EVT, LLC
EVT is focused on the transformation of veterinary team growth & development throughout the industry.
Who would have guessed from across the aisle of an airplane to start the journey of a lifetime a lifelong friendship would be formed. Alyssa and Caitlin bonded on the steps of the Taj Mahal as they found adventure, chaos and beauty. Through graduations, weddings, births, job changes and life moves their friendship has grown to include eight wonderful souls. In 2017 Alyssa and Caitlin were both sta
Fabulous day with the crew!! ✨
We spent yesterday working with the medical team on training and it was a great reminder of how powerful hands-on CE can be💪
📢PSA: CE is for the whole team!!
Using models and manikins to build muscle memory before live patients is key ✅🦸♀️Confidence goes up😓Stress goes down🐾Patients stay safer
Another important piece…when are fully utilized, everything improves!
🐾Better patient care
📈Smoother workflows
💪Stronger teams
🚀More empowered humans all around
Days like yesterday reinforce all this…!
So grateful for this amazing group and their commitment to learning and growth 💙 Cannot wait to see how they continue to level up and deliver great medicine 🐶✨🐱
If standard of care truly applies to how we practice medicine, it must also apply to how we build & sustain the teams delivering that care. This means:
✔️Training isn’t optional or informal - it’s an obligation.
✔️Utilization isn’t about saving money - it’s about safety, quality & sustainability.
✔️Wellbeing isn’t separate from care - it’s a prerequisite.
We cannot keep raising the bar for medicine while ignoring the scaffolding required to reach it, & action steps we can take now. But, you do not need to fix everything overnight, start here:
✔️Audit your current task delegation - ID gaps w/out blame.
✔️Map who is doing what and why - compare to licensure, training & competency.
✔️Invest in structured onboarding & CE for EVERY role.
✔️Normalize conversations about capacity, burnout & support using data, not gut feelings.
✔️Advocate at leadership & organizational levels for utilization as a standard of care policy, not a staffing preference.
Meeting the standard of care is not just about what happens in the exam room; it’s about whether the system behind the scenes allows your team to practice safely, ethically & sustainably.
Standards are already written.
Now we have to build practices that make them possible.
DM us so we can do this, together ✨
HUGE shout out to the OG practice who has been with us since the beginning 😻
The team
The leadership
The dedication - to their patients, clients, each other
The building (state-of-the-ART!)
They are legit 🦄🦄🦄
We are so grateful to be a part of their ongoing growth & quenching their thirst for knowledge, for now 😉
Women ARE veterinary medicine. 💙🐾
Their leadership, compassion, brilliance, and resilience make this profession what it is, and celebrating that isn’t optional.
It’s the first step toward real equity. 💪

💬 Drop a comment and tag a woman in vet med who inspires you!
Let’s lift them up, celebrate loudly, and keep pushing until equity is the norm - because only then will we reach true equality. ✨
We had an AMAZING time at the DITogether Workshop in Vegas last week! 🎉
Attendees got to make & take home their very own mini CPR/AX training manikins - complete with EVTraining hearts. 🫀🐾
Why we love this:
✨ It gets the whole team involved
✨ It builds training tools you’ll actually use long-term
✨ It repurposes practice materials that might otherwise be tossed
✨ And it makes learning FUN and memorable!
Huge shoutout to for sponsoring this session and standing strong behind veterinary technician–led education.
And big love to for collaborating with us to bring this hands-on experience to life. 💙
When we build together, learn together, and grow together…great things happen💥
