This video was recorded 13 years ago. Been operating now for 30 years. JSG has been essential to boxing in Philadelphia as a safe haven but beyond that a historical place in its own right. We are the only privately black owned gym in Philadelphia that has been open during this time frame for this long. I wish I could provide all of the history at once in this post. However, there is way too much. So for the next 29 days leading up to our Saturday, August 17th, 30th Anniversary Community Festival and Outdoor Boxing Event we will drop a post to highlight the history of this here James Shuler Memorial Boxing Gym.
