Substantial rainfall has caused many bunker washouts, as well as debris scattered throughout the golf course.
We remain open however we will be restricted to only driving on the cart paths today because it’s extremely wet.
I’m glad to report that new drainage that was recently installed on holes 12 and 13 have kept damage to a minimum!
We appreciate your patience as we work to get the course back in shape. Thank you

At the 1952 U.S. Women’s Open Louise Suggs gave one of the premier performances of her Hall-of-Fame career.
The setting was our course here at Bala Golf Club and the Women’s Open was being played for just the seventh time. The championship was conducted by the LPGA, which had been founded just two years earlier.
The course was extraordinarily short, even by the standards of the day, playing to just 5,460 yards with a par of 69. Suggs pointed out that the course conditions of that era required resourceful shotmaking because of tight proximities. I think this photograph exemplifies that sentiment.
She would return to the area the following year to win an LPGA stop at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club and Philadelphia would become one of her favorite stops on tour.
This position is very important to Bala Golf Club as you will be the first to greet members and their guest(s). A lasting first impression is key.
Essential Responsibilities:
Outside operations will include but are not limited to:
Taking care of members and their guest(s) in a friendly manner
Setting up and maintaining range and cart fleet
Maintaining bag and cart storage
Prepare carts for play; assist guests with clubs and with outings
Support daily golf operations as directed by the head golf professional
Assist the golf shop staff daily
Responsible for appearance and cleanliness in and around the golf shop areas
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Must be available 25-35 hours per week
$9.00 - $10.00 per hour plus gratuities
Meals provided while on duty
Uniform and limited golf privileges when available

The roots of Bala Golf Club reach back to the spring of 1893. In 1923, noted designer William Flynn was brought in to renovate the course, building an additional nine holes. So then, ‘twas etched in wood that one day a set of steps would lead up from 8 green to 9 tee. You may have noticed that Flynn’s vision has finally been realized 😉
