Attention Markel Enjoys Aurora!
-
Like many in Markel’s neighborhood, he plays football and basketball. He can’t name any tennis players on tour, and the nearest tennis courts to his home are at Fairground Park, an area not necessarily known for its safety in recent decades. Through it all, Markel’s brief time with Aurora has sparked a new, genuine interest in the game.
-
‘‘Tennis keeps us out of trouble, for real,’’ Markel said. ‘‘It keeps us busy. If we want to play tennis, we get to learn the basics here. Plus it’s a boys and girls thing, so we all have a better opportunity to play.’’

Najee Enjoys Aurora!
Najee likes playing tennis so he joined Aurora Tennis Association last year to give it a try! He believes that it is important to be able to face challenges head on to learn new things and face your fears. He has learned different life skills due to his participation in Aurora, but none more than patience! Najee is determined to get better and is always a willing participant during class.

Our Students Are Inspiring!
Congratulations to This Week's Student Spotlight!
Deron never knew he could play tennis so he joined Aurora Tennis Association during his second semester to give it a try! He believes it is important to go outside of your comfort zone because he values experimenting new things. Deron knows you never win all of your games but he keeps trying even when he feels defeated during practice. His drive and determination to try a new sport has earned him the title Student Spotlight of the Week!
