This past weekend, something extraordinary happened.

Across 3 performances, nearly 1,000 audience members gathered with us in a shared space of reflection, celebration, and transformation. The energy in the theater was undeniable—filled with love, light, and a deep sense of connection.

Together, we didn’t just witness Echo & Flame: Feng Huang Awakens—

𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁.

The spirit of the Feng Huang—the rising, the renewal, the collective awakening—was not only on stage.

𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀.

As KYL/D’s professional ensemble takes its final bow, we are holding onto what matters most: the community, the memories, and the impact this journey has had on so many lives.

📝 After 18 years of cultivating dance in South Philadelphia, Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers will take its final bow on March 27 and 28 …

The closure of the company and its home on Percy Street, the CHI Movement Center around the corner from Philly cheesesteak landmarks Pat’s King of Steaks and Geno’s Steaks, could send ripples across Philadelphia’s dance community.

“It feels like a loss for the community, and it feels like another shift in our post-COVID world,” said Mikaela Boone, programming director and artistic producer for FringeArts. “I think it will be a felt shift in terms of the dance ecosystem in Philly.”

Today I celebrate another year of life, art, and community—and in this final home season, that reflection feels especially meaningful.

I am filled with gratitude for the many artists, students, and audience members who have been part of this journey. Your support and love for dance have shaped KYL/D in ways I could never have imagined.

In honor of my birthday, I would like to share a small gift with you.

For a limited time, 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗞𝗬𝟭𝟴 𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝟭𝟴% 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 (today thru Friday 3/20). As we gather for these final moments together, it would mean so much to have you with us.
