It was a almost a decade ago today that I presented a program on Type and Jung at the APTi Conference in Miami, and rolled out my spiffy exhibit table with my then new suite of Type products. The Eight Jungian Function Image Metaphor Cards and companion products are not a day older, unlike their author.

Author, professor and researcher Susan David explains the difference between the words we often use interchangably:
Sympathy - a simple acknowedgement of another's pain (sitting across not beside)
Empathy - showing a deeper understanding of another's pain (sitting beside)
Compassion - acting to help when someone is in pain (taking an action that helps to ease the other's pain)
The Important Difference Between Sympathy, Empathy, and Compassion
The past few challenging years have led to a long overdue call for more empathy, compassion, and humanity, both at work and in our communities. On the other hand, ma

Love this article by Brene Brown on leading from heart.
She says:
"Without self-awareness and the ability to manage our emotions, we often unknowingly lead from hurt, not heart. Not only is this a huge energy suck for us and the people around us, it creates distrust, disengagement, and an eggshell culture."
I think that most of us can attest to what if feels like to be in an 'eggshell' culture!
Leading From Hurt Versus Leading From Heart
We desperately need more leaders who are committed to courageous, wholehearted leadership and who are self-aware enough to lead from their hearts, rather than unevolved leaders who lead from hurt and fear.

At this year's BAPT conference (see below for details) we will be addressing: How to Apply Jung's 8 Functions with Remote Teams and Leaders.
Psychological Type is a dynamic theory of personality. It's about how we use our minds, when we are awake; how we take in information, how we make decisions, and the psychological energy we have to do so.
The theory is complex, and for those of us who use preference based assessments, it can be challenging to incorporate Jung's 8 Mental Functions into MBTI feedback and team sessions, especially within shrinking time frames, in a remote world.
Join me and my co-presenter Alexis Fakouri on April 7, 2022 from 8-9 PM British Summer Time, 3-4 PM Eastern Standard Time, for an overview on how to do just that!
You will see, and experience, how to use third-party applications such as MIRO to incorporate Jung's Functions into practical team based exercises, and will leave with fresh ideas on how to bring your remote workshops to life.
See the conference brochure for details: https://lnkd.in/dUa6cyXj
If you are interested in adding depth to your remote team Type sessions, we are looking forward to seeing you there!
