I went to GFNY Bahamas in Novemberto get a break from cold weather, coach a number of awesome athletes and bag some GFNY series points. Went to the start grid and found Philippe Protas (France), the GFNY series points leader. It was a good battle but I was able to prevail. We both finished in the lead group overall (24 mph average speed, 62 miles), next to winners of all the younger categories. Coached athletes stacked the podiums. I am now #1 for the overall GFNY ranking. Fun day!

A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure to attend the graduation of one of the very best young men that I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I can't fully explain the profound satisfaction that I feel to see Jaheim achieve his goals and to coach and mentor the next group of talented, aspiring young athletes.

We wrapped up our third annual training camp in Italy last month! Special thanks to , who spent a year planning the perfect trip. Stelvio, Gavia, and Mortirolo were on the agenda for this year. Where will next year take us?

Things got a little muddy at the Poolesville Road Race, but that didn't stop Team Velojawn riders from smiling and nabbing podium spot! Congrats, !!!

Eight day Tucson training camp in the books! On the agenda was Mt. Lemmon, Gates Pass, and Kitt Peak. 400+ miles in a little over a week. Now back to hopefully the last of cold east coast weather.

It's single digits on the east coast, which means trainer season is in full effect. Here are some of Velojawn's indoor setups to help get us through the winter!

With the beginning of a New Year, now's the time to start thinking about goals in 2025. One of the most overlooked aspects of training is the "foundation building" phase. What is it and why is it important? Head on over to our website and check out our new blog post to find out why! Link in bio.

GFNY Puerto Rico had some breakout performances by Velojawn coached athletes! First up, Julio! Julio's power to weight ratio improved by about 20% since starting with Coach Jerry 15 months ago. At GFNY Puerto Rico he set 20 minute (221 watts) and 60 minute power PR's (203 watts) over a 5+ hour race in hot and humid conditions!
Julio has worked really hard, but more importantly, he has trained smart and has learned how to rest properly, not just bash miles. He really focused on doing well in Puerto Rico and put in a lot of hard work. He won the men's 60-64 by 26 minutes and finished 34th in the overall field. Congratulations, Julio!
Coach Jerry won the 65-69 by a huge margin in a very small field (35th overall). Only 1 other 65+ rider finished the long course.
The course was extremely challenging, with long, variable and steep climbs totaling 8,651 vertical feet in 81.3 miles.
