Unfortunately we did not have enough teams interested in playing fall ball this year, so we will not have a league for the 2024 season. 🙁
Philadelphia Fall Baseball League
The Philadelphia Fall Baseball League (PFBL) is an adult wooden-bat baseball league started in 2000.

Congratulations to the Montco Phillies for winning the Philadelphia Fall Baseball League Championship by sweeping Homers for Hope today!

Our 2023 Fall Season kicked off last week, but unfortunately Mother Nature has different plans for us tomorrow, so all games will be rained out.
Terrible news reached me in Cali this morning regarding the PFBL family! Matt Wilcox passed away yesterday. Matt’s ties to baseball in NJ, Delco and Philly made him known to a lot of people. He will be missed! If there are details available regarding services and funeral arrangements I will post them.

Congrats to our 2022 PFBL Champions, The Wookies, who brought home the title with a 14-7 win over the Phillies on the back of a complete game by Kevin Sompel.
And special thanks to Crown Trophy Conshohocken for their work on the huge championship trophy!

The PFBL is back at it, and we had a beautiful morning for baseball today.
THE RETURN OF THE PFBL…
After a few years off the Philadelphia Fall Baseball League will be revived under new leadership in 2022!!!
Anyone interested in joining the league as a player (18+) or entering a full team should contact Mike Anderson at [email protected] by the end of August!

The 2020 PFBL season has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic!
Additionally, the PFBL is officially closed for business, thus ending my term as League President and permanently removing myself from all official duties and responsibilities. I have decided that this is the best way for me to dissolve my leadership role and liability moving forward, both due to my residence in California and the changing baseball landscape related to the pandemic.
As I have advised current coaches and officers of the league already, if anyone wants to re-start a fall league using the Philadelphia Fall Baseball League (PFBL) name, I surrender it freely. I will maintain the current league website with all the history (www.LeagueLineup.com/PFBL), as well as this page, in case a new league wants to continue the legacy at some point. I will freely give the access information if that happens.
I want to specifically thank PFBL Co-Founder and VP Derrick Morgan for making this league happen over these past two decades. I’d like to thank Lou Acello for handling umpires for our league these last few years (as well as the other umpire groups and assignors who have been involved in the past). I’d also like to thank everyone who has participated in and helped this league over the years, whether it be just 2019 or since the beginning. I think we’ve had a wonderful run of amazing baseball and I’ve enjoyed the extremely diverse talent from all over the Philadelphia area we’ve had involved.
I wish all of you the best. I hope that eventually we are all able to get back into our non-pandemic personal and baseball lives, including some form of fall baseball in Philadelphia for all of you.
Thank you again,
Mike Johnston

The 20th Season of the Philadelphia Fall Baseball League has come to a conclusion! In celebrating those 20 years, here's a recap of some of the accomplishments of players and teams during that time...
With their 2019 championship, giving them 5 consecutive titles, the Horsham River Cats earned their 9th League Championship in 20 years.
Just behind the River Cats are the Philadelphia Yankees, the league's first ever champs, who during their 15 years in the league earned 6 titles (one came under the name of Roxborough Indians).
The only other team to win multiple championships being the back to back winners in 2005 and 2006, the Croydon Sand Gnats.
The other champions in league history have been the Delco Blue Rocks, the South Jersey Dominators, and the Valley Forge Grays.
The Croydon Sand Gnats won two consecutive titles, the Philadelphia Yankees won 4 consecutive (one as Roxborough Indians) and another 2 back to back later, while the Horsham River Cats have won back to back titles twice and now 5 consecutive championships.
The PFBL's first League MVP was Mike Johnston (Philadelphia Yankees/Roxborough Indians) in 2002.
The PFBL's first League Pitcher of the Year was John Durso (Philadelphia Yankees/Roxborough Indians) in 2003.
Pete Moore of the Horsham River Cats has earned 3 League Pitcher of the Year awards, as well as 1 League MVP, while leading his team to all the championships mentioned above.
Pete's teammate on the River Cats, Doug Brown, has earned 4 League Pitcher of the Year awards, also as a part of numerous River Cats championships.
Josh Wernick of the Croydon Sand Gnats earned League MVP and League Pitcher of the Year awards.
Dan Gavlick, currently of the Philadelphia Dirt Dawgs, and formerly of the Philadelphia Yankees, has earned League MVP and League Co-MVP awards.
Kevin McGovern of the Philadelphia Dirt Dawgs, and formerly of both the Philadelphia Yankees and Valley Forge Grays, earned League Pitcher of the Year and League Co-MVP awards.
The Fasano brothers, Nick and James, of the Horsham River Cats have each won a League MVP or League Co-MVP award.
Congratulations to the Horsham River Cats for winning the 2019 Philadelphia Fall Baseball League Championship!
The River Cats swept the Philadelphia Dirt Dawgs to earn their 5th consecutive league title!
JD Hemminger earned the MVP of the championship series by hitting a game clinching home run in game 1, as well as making a diving catch to end that same game.
Mike Anthony was the Pitcher of the Week for the series throwing a complete game with 10 strikeouts.
