Why is it important for ME to help 45+ feel young + stronger?

⚡️I started my fitness journey at 45.
⚡️45 is a good age to start thinking about some health issues that may arise.
⚡️As I approached 50 I didn’t want to “feel” 50.
⚡️I want to stay fit + healthy for my daughter.
⚡️I want to stay fit + healthy for myself.
⚡️I want to stay fit + healthy for my husband.
⚡️I didn’t want “ 50” to be like my parents were…I thought they were really old 🤔
⚡️the ability to bounce back from illnesses.
⚡️I want to travel the world and be healthier enough to do so.
⚡️Vitality
⚡️I want to be around for my daughter…my mom died when I was 30 and my dad died I was 42….AND that could possibly be the only reason if I had to narrow this list down to 1.

If you aren’t strengthening training…

Hey my GenX crew,
So important to strength train as we get a bit older every years. Here are my top 3 reasons:
🧠Good for your brain + emotional state
⚖️Keeps you at a healthy weight
🩺May help reduce some symptoms associated with age

I would think that we all want to feel young + healthy for as long as we can. I have known way too many adults who didn’t take of themselves and the outcome wasn’t always pretty. I encourage good nutrition and exercise 3x a week for those who are close to that 50 mark. There is so much to do, see, and be around for in life. Take of the only body you’ll ever get.

I love eating candy 🍭

When I was a kid I would get money from my grandmother for my birthday and I would go down to the drug store and spend it all on candy.
I would dump it all in my “handbag” and walk around with it.
I remember doing this for several years.
As I got older I would go to “sweet stuff” and buy lbs of Swedish fish, jelly beans or gummy bears…or a mix of it all.
As an adult I’d buy laffy taffy, gummy anything, cherry sour balls.
Took my annual trip to the doctors and had my blood work done.
RESULTS WERE…pre-diabetic. Which shouldn’t surprise me at all now but I had no idea thru all these years that I was probably eating WAY too much sugar that was not great for me. I mean I was a string bean all my life and I never thought I could be pre-diabetic. It didn’t get better because even though I stopped eating sugar I didn’t really take being pre-diabetes seriously enough. So my next test came back…DIABETIC type 2.And that scared the s**t out of me. I went and bought cook books and googled everything about how to reverse it. I was really pi**ed off at myself but had to take action.
⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
-my meals came from the cookbooks I bought.
-I tracked my meals
-I eliminate candy from my life
-work out more often
-educated myself on what fruit I could eat that didn’t have tons of sugar
-stopped drinking wine
-managed my stress (this is a challenge for me)
KEPT A BETTER LIFESTYLE ALL AROUND.
6 months later I went back in to do a follow up and I was able to get my A1C level to the borderline level where I do not need to use medication. While this could change I am trying to live a better lifestyle.
So…. Moral here: Eat healthy and exercise and lessen your stress.
You only get one body…take care of it.

You just don’t get a personal trainer …you also get a nutrition coach.

A lot of certified personal trainers are also certified nutrition coaches…it kinda goes hand in hand. Nutrition is sooo important while on a fitness journey. For me, I will help you with nutrition so you can see your results with fitness. I will keep you accountable so that you reach your goals. Real conversations are going to happen.

It’s gonna happen!

The holiday season is in full swing. There are holiday parties to attend, cocktail parties with passed h’orderves, cookie swaps, dinner with friends & family…the list goes on.
SOOOOO…this is what YOU should NOT do:
-best yourself up
-starve yourself afterwards
-go ham with some crazy diets/exercise
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
-eat what you want and enjoy your holiday festivities 🥳
-know that there will be an end to all the eating
-go back to your regular schedule program when the holiday festivities are done.

I THOUGHT I WAS KILLING IT💪

I was TRYING to get fit.
I was TRYING to have abs.
I thought if I just did a million variations of ab exercises I would be golden.
I thought I was killing it at the sit up game.
LITTLE DID I KNOW…
I was NOT killing it and just doing sit ups was not going to get me FIT.
I needed some help with what I should be doing versus what I was actually doing.
I spent a good year just doing some sort of sit ups at home before I got the help I needed to succeed in my fitness journey.
We all need to start somewhere. But at some point the realization is that you see very little progress and you begin to wonder WHY?
At that point it’s probably a good idea to find someone to help you out. That’s what I did 🙂 That’s what I can do for you!

A typical day for me…

OMG…you are sooo skinny

But I am skinny…so why would I workout?
If I had a dollar for every time I said thru life…I’d be rich.

I never workout because I thought if I was skinny I didn’t have to. So I went thru most of my life just living large. Eating whatever I wanted, eating as much as I wanted to. I’d go to dinner with my dad and order an appetizer, meal and dessert ALL THE TIME! And didn’t put weight on. People would say I’m was so lucky. I remained this way for the majority of my life. What people didn’t know is this:
😞Clothes were always big on me so I struggled to find clothes and just ended up wearing every thing big. 00 & 0 did not exist like they do now.
😞I remember walking on the beach and some guy making fun of me and screamed “go on a diet”
😞I had no “shape” I was a straight line. No ass, no b***s (still don’t have b***s) Can’t have it all. No muscles at all.
😞Weighed less then I should have. I was less then 100lbs when I got married for the first time.
😞Wasn’t eating the correct food…what’s protein and why should I eat it?
But life took a turn when I started WORKING OUT. It was a game changer. I had the ability to start building muscle mass, I could find clothes that fit me, no one was making fun of me but rather telling me I look good and I was figuring out nutrition. This was a win for me. I did need to workout…even if I was skinny.
