Sometimes we hike, sometimes we hit the gym, sometimes we try something completely new that we've never done before, other times we goof off.... we call it balance and no matter what we have fun doing it!!! What's your workout today!? ♡♡♡♡
Every time you take on a new challenge remember..... even if you don't do as well as someone else, or don't do as well as you thought you would, that's no reason to beat yourself up! Instead of feeling sad or disappointed in yourself, use it as motivation!!!! Even the strongest, fastest, most talented athletes sucked at first....they had to train and work hard to get to where they are now!! So YES, IT WILL BE HARD AT FIRST, BUT DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP!!! Go 10 steps farther then you did last time, do 2 more sets, go 5 more minutes.....WHAT EVER IT IS.....Set a goal! Even if it seems like something small and silly to someone else... your ONLY GOAL is to do better than you did the time before!!!!
Yes! There IS water in the desert! Took full advantage of a typical winter Sunday in Phoenix and explored the trails at Lake Pleasant Regional Park right here in our own backyard! They're great trails for beginners, and come on, that view from the top? What a prize!

Just a friendly reminder that IT IS RATTLESNAKE SEASON!!!! If you decide to go for a hike LEAVE THE HEADPHONES AT HOME!!!! You will hear a rattlesnake before you'll see it!!! They let you know that you're getting too close IF YOU LISTEN for them!!!! Be safe out there!!!! Pack lots of water and go early in the morning or in the evening! ♡♡♡♡ We found this beauty yesterday morning!!!
Got in a quick hike this morning on Shaw Butte Trail in the North Mountain preserve. You CAN hike in the summer, you just have to make sure you start early, bring plenty of water, and most important of all, listen to your body and if you need to, cut your hike short and call it a day.

This is close to the summit of the which takes you to the base of the "thumb." I looked it up when we got home and this is known as the . The thumb was named for one of the first men to climb it, part of an early group of rock climbers in the Phoenix area in about the 60s.
We got in a beautiful hike this morning!!! We took Cherie's 2 daughters and one of their friends up Tom's Thumb trail in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, in Scottsdale, Arizona!!! What a great way to start the day!!!
Who says healthy food has to taste bad?!? You can make some amazing meals that you currently like by changing a few things.... like stir fry noodles!!! Just spiralize some zucchini and use them for noodles instead! Small steps can lead to amazing HEALTHY changes!!! Beef Zoodle Stir Fry!!!
