Fantastic practice last night. The guys are getting the hang of it and we even had some Pro baseball players stop by to chat with the team. BlueJays, Orioles and Tampa Bay pitchers spoke about hard work and their journey to the pros.

WOW!!! What a great practice last night. Looks like we'll have to put together a younger team also because of all the younger kids that came out. And we'll need more help... hahaha We had kids everywhere hahaha.

Time for Driller baseball. Tonight 5:30. Let's get to 12 players so we can start traveling.

First practice last night...
As we were warming up, a young lady was walking by watching us toss the ball around. So I asked her age and if she wanted to play. She said yes and ran down to the field with the biggest smile on her face that really never broke the whole time she was there. She said "I've never played before, but I've always wanted" We got her a glove and Stephanie started to teach her how to catch and throw the ball. The whole time she kept asking how much does it cost and it broke my heart. We told her it doesn't cost anything and you're welcome to play as long as you want. She was so happy that she asked to call her grandma and when she hung up she said her grandma said yes.

There's something really wrong with all of this, but I promise you as long as I am able I will provide my time and a place for these kids to play baseball. AND IT WILL NEVER COST THEM A DIME!!!

So at the end of practice I asked that they go get their parents or who ever brought them to practice... and three boys just stood there. I asked, how did you get here? One kid responded " I drove". I said WHAT!!! Yes nobody wanted to bring us, so I drove.
I told him he's never to drive to practice again and if they need a ride I'll go get them.

It was like I was reading a script. It was so unreal. She's super happy to be playing and the other kid... well. This is going to be a journey and if they're happy, I'll be happy
