Y OPAS YMCA's Outreach Program for Ahwatukee Seniors needs your help

Please donate today and Help Y OPAS help our senior population in ahwatukee

You can now schedule your gift for this year’s GIVE65 Event by visiting our fundraising page: www.give65.org/YOPAS. Scheduled gifts are the first to be matched which empowers your gift to go even further in helping the seniors we serve.
To schedule your gift, please visit our fundraising page www.give65.org/YOPAS, then click the pink “donate now” button and follow the steps to schedule your gift.

Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 to help 425 Ahwatukee Seniors remain independent
Thank you for showing your commitment to the older generation with a scheduled gift. We are grateful for your support.

The GIVE65 Event, a 65-hour online giving event, celebrates nonprofits serving seniors each July. GIVE65, a program of the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation, hopes to inspire people to come together and give in support of seniors and the nonprofit organizations serving them. Donations of $10 or more are accepted and always appreciated. Matching grants and financial prizes amplify charitable donations to make each dollar have an even greater impact on seniors throughout the United States.
DONATE TOWARDS OUR MISSION @ GIVE 65
www.give65.org/yopas

Beginning Tomorrow Monday July 13
(Pre-giving dates July 13/14 where all donations are guaranteed to be matched)

At Y OPAS our mission is to help Seniors Stay Independent ! We provide support services that empower seniors and help them age in place. Our services align with the YMCA Mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that promote healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Here is a short video of the good Y OPAS does for our Ahwatukee Seniors
https://youtu.be/MpEGhLb4mrc

Monday , Give 65, an online fundraiser will begin. This is an event held each year and sponsored by the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation, who will match all funds until they have matched $100,000. The key to getting the match is to donate early as pre giving begins (July 13 + 14). The organization with the most donors will also get a $10,000 bonus. Please share so we can get as many people as possible to donate $10.00 or more.

Here is the link to donate, www.give65.org/yopas

Please share and thank you all for your support one and all !!
Steve is blind and relies on the services of Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA to live independently. They drive him to the doctor, open his mail, help pay bills and he’s even able to socialize at their monthly events.

“I can truly say without YOPAS, I would be unable to live independently. I believe that YOPAS has some of the nicest people and they truly are angels.”

Your generosity during the GIVE65 Event – July 15 – 17 – gives more seniors the chance to age on their own terms. https://www.give65.org/YOPAS

Do you stand with your employee Kimberly Koleski Brown and her hateful, racist views? Why are you deleting these comments?

https://www.facebook.com/kimberlybrownfit/posts/10109940087382102
Do you have a much needed statement to make in regard to Kimberly Brown’s comments online? Are these the ideals that you support? You have a huge number of people watching to see how you handle this situation. An immediate response to your community is crucial. Here are her own words for you to review:

“Breaking silence... George Floyd... I, for one, am glad you are dead! Not because you are black, not because I am racist, because you are a criminal. So, this is not a racism issue, this a cop vs. criminal situation. A little education to the misguided majority out there... Officers answer calls for service, they cannot control the race of the subject they are responding to. Officers are not knocking on doors of outstanding black citizens that are reading stories to their children to simply beat them senseless. George Floyd was committing a crime, under the influence of drugs, and resisting arrest... Was it excessive use of force or murder (the fact that, that is even being charged is absurd), that is for the department and the jury to decide, but you think that he will receive a fair trial from his peers or will they succumb to the guilty verdict to prevent more rioting to occur, doesn't seem like fair justice to me.

These riots are unjustified, classless, and without purpose. You want to discuss racism, discrimination, and hate crimes.... What the hell do you think is happening to those wearing a badge. The City of Phoenix officers are not responsible for the death of Floyd, the statistics actually show that more white men have been killed by Phx Officers then blacks. Again, this is not a racism issue. Rioting against the badge is no different then the K*K. Creating civil unrest is not a solution.

I am so tired of the "lack of opportunity" excuse. There are more programs and services dedicated to blacks specifically. How is that not racism? How are we posting black owned businesses to support without question... We are making decisions simply for the color of skin. That is racism and discrimination.

We are dealing with a socioeconomic issue and a family structure problem. You want to make a difference, shut your mouth, stop destroying our streets, and go volunteer in the youth communities to prevent them from becoming the next George Floyd's...

As for Chief Jerri Williams... You are an utter disgrace! A disgrace to the badge and the oath you took, to the culture you stand for, and the opportunity you were given to be a black woman as Chief of the 5th largest City... It was time for you to put an end to black vs. white and stand up for community protection from all criminals of every race and standing behind the officers doing the job day in and day out, with few resources. Your transparency is a fabricated effort in an attempt for you to be liked by the community with your ice cream truck, when instead you should have been educating the community on the duty of your officers and the policies in place to ensure that serving and protecting is being upheld and working to provide a safer environment for your officers that are running on limited personnel, limited resources, and funding that dates back to the recession... You have done NOTHING for the department to facilitate positive change. You are yet another placeholder, so maybe you should resign and continue your walks in the streets, because you have taken a tremendous opportunity and allowed the color of your skin to determine your stance... It is not for you to condemn the officer in Minneapolis, you are not the one investigating it, or do you not recall, you have used that phrase quite often.”

At the Y, we measure the success of our cause by how well we engage communities in our three areas of focus. The Y is a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility.

That’s because a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors.
