I have to say I am very lucky to be a part of the Thrive Family with Lee Gough and the gang!! Last Saturday Lee spent an hour showing us very important stretches and ways to use the roller that give us much more flexibility on the lower half!! Today was the upper half and wow, let me tell you my Pecks and Lats are in need of these important techniques! Totally helps mobility.!!!! Thanks for caring Lee Gough
Feeling stronger after the 5 am class, and even though it was leg day, my arms must have got a little something too...came home and pulled the door handle off of the garage door! I told the my girls it was from working out 😂🙈😳 Thanks Ebony Howard!!

Well, I have been a team member of Thrive Performance for 1 month now and I have to say I am so happy I joined this group! I feel like part of the team, no matter who I work out the support is always there! I am happy to say I have lost 7 lbs and gained much more strength and definition. I got you didn't I?? I bet you thought this was about B***y training or something.

​​​​​​​Although thats always a good topic, this is way more important.


I recently read a book called Essentialism by Greg McKeown.



One of the concepts really hit home with me. It’s something I’ve preached often in my time as a coach, but I really liked the way the author, Greg McKeown, put it…



Protect Your No 1 Asset



What he’s talking about is how important it is that your health and well-being be at the top of your daily priority list.



Why?



Because, YOU are the number one asset you have to make a contribution to the world, especially those people around you that you love and cherish the most.



Think about it…



Can you be the best parent to your kids if you’re constantly stressed out, sick, tired, and weak?



Can you be the best spouse or partner under those conditions?



How about employee or business owner?



That’s always an important reminder to me…



I love what I do for a living. Being the owner of a coaching businessis a true blessing, and being able to work alongside such a great group of coaches is a privilege.



However, when I let self-care slip I absolutely notice a difference in my focus and productivity… and that’s the exact opposite of what anyone wants.



I think we all get so caught up in getting things done that we forget to stop and understand that if we took better care of ourselves we’d actually get more done - at least more of what’s really important.



Stephen Covey (author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) referred to it as “sharpening the saw.” He’d talk about how people would be so busy trying to chop down the tree that they never stop to sharpen the saw...which would make chopping the tree go faster and easier! He often made the joke, “Have you ever been so busy driving that you forget to stop and get gas?!” ;-



Here are five areas to focus on when protecting your number one asset:



1. What you eat

2. The number of hours of sleep you get each night

3. How often you workout, and the quality of those workouts

4. How you manage stress

5. Self limiting beliefs



Remember, if you want to be a great parent/spouse/friend/worker you need to take extra special care of YOU…

Thrive Performance

Here’s a bodyweight version of what we did this morning.

Our GSD workout this morning was crazy. Here’s a version you can do that doesn’t require any equipment.

Reverse ladder. 10 reps of every exercise then 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. You get the idea.

1/4 mile run before every set.

Burpees.
Push ups.
Jump squats
sit ups
tricep dips
Jump lunge
Mountain climber
Ice skaters
Side plank dips
Plank to push up.

Have fun.
