SMCC Women's Soccer went 2-0 last week. They were led by team Captain Cielo Rodriguez. Cielo put in a steller defensive display on Thursday night in helping SMCC shutout Gateway in a 1-0 2OT win. On Saturday, Cielo came up big offensively scoring her first of two in the game against Scottsdale in the 10th minute, firing a low shot from 20 yards in the corner of the net. Cielo would score her second of the game, 3 minutes from time in 2OT, hitting a shot from 25 yards out that nestled in the top corner of the Scottsdale goal, to give South Mountain a 2-1 win.

Andrea (Drea) Farnsworth, soph middle blocker/outside hitter from Mesa High School
