Our team will be out of office for the next two weeks including our tiendita with the exception of today and tomorrow (tienda only) to wrap up any online orders and last minute visits to the store, so come by if you need anything! 12-6pm.

Starting in August we will be holding Family Wellbriety Talking Circles every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6pm to 8pm.

This talking circle is intended to break the cycle of addiction in families affected by alcohol and substance use.

Please be sure to register by filling out our tonalpahqui form. When you do, our lead social worker will reach out to do a check-in prior to your first circle attendance.

You’ll spend 5 Saturdays with us live on zoom with our Death Comadre team learning about the sacred transitions and business of death. 🖤

Whether you’re interested in learning how to navigate this stage of life for yourself, family or loved ones or you feel called to do this work for the greater community, this is a step toward better understanding and preparing yourself for holding, walking, grieving and supporting someone through these inevitable sacred transitions with so much dignity.

This month we completed the 4th cohort of our Death Comadre Training in person. We met over the course of 5 weeks ending with an interactive day where we applied what we learned and put it into practice as if someone transitioned.

It warms our hearts to know there are so many people interested in this work, whether it be to support their family and close loved ones or extending that to community to follow their calling.

We know there are many more folks out there who feel the call but cannot attend in person, so, we’ll be holding a virtual iteration of this training starting August 1st.

Elder Angelina is part of the International Alliance of Traditional and Indigenous Midwives of the Americas who is going to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland next month. The purchase of these fajas supports her community so they can continue to have dignified births and protected rights for indigenous midwives like her.

Join us this Saturday for our Sacred Support: Rebozo Training. Learn about the sacred rebozo and how it supports the body during moon cycles, pregnancy, birth, & postpartum with Temachtiani (teacher) Maria Parra Cano.

Maria is an Indigenous woman born in Phoenix, Arizona with her lineages stemming from the Acolhua, original Peoples from Texcoco, Mexico & Raramuri Peoples from Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua. Maria was raised in Phoenix, Arizona in Barrio Garfield, along with her 7 siblings.

Maria is not only a mother, she is a wife, sister, aunt, community organizer, danzante y mujer de ceremonia as part of the Calpoalli Tlacahuatzin & other ceremonial circles for the past 30 years.

Maria has been sharing traditional knowledge & cultural education through food, dance, birthwork and traditional medicine, also practicing traditional medicine, specific to her Acolhua lineage, over the past three decades.

Maria has been named a partera tradicional by her elders of Teotihuacan, Mexico. She is an Indigenous Lactation Educator, birth & postpartum CoMadrita/Birthworker, flower essence specialist, founder of Indigena, traditional babywearing & rebozo use educator, and practitioner.

This hands-on training will allow you to share space in community and create a relationship with your rebozo and your body. You’ll also learn about cerradas/closing of the bones.
