Was aiming for 9, made it to 8, survived it all with a little help from my friends.
This is my third Arizona summer and running in these conditions is humbling, to say the least. Yes, I know it’s hot, but this monsoon humidity is killer! 🥵
They say this will make fall running easier 🤔Ha! I’ll keep you posted…

6.19 miles around South Mountain to participate in the Ambassador Juneteenth Virtual Run. Overnight rain showers cleared the dust out of the air a bit and it was magnificent at the top. Telegraph to National to Ranger then back down Telegraph. Nice loop for a Sunday morning! Now to celebrate Father’s Day with the fam. 🥰

While I’ve been lucky enough to visit capital cities in other countries over the years, today was the first time I’ve ever been to DC. We only had a few hours to explore on this rainy Monday morning, but it was absolutely amazing and I’m so glad I got experience it with Liam. We arrived early, walked & cycled through the quiet, rainy streets, trying to see as much as we could with the time we had. It was a good day. 🥰

It’s hard to get any pictures with these two at the same time these days. They’re both taller than me now, have their individual interests, and enjoy being teenagers. But nothing makes me happier than spending time with them, either together or in their own element. 🥰

24 hours later and I still can’t find the words to describe this adventure. This was our first time to the canyon and it certainly won’t be the last! We could not have asked for a more perfect day to explore this majestic place. 😍
We’ve wanted to do this for a couple of years. But I was injured for a long time and life just got busy last fall. So we made a concerted effort to focus on training together consistently in the new year. We joined , reduced road miles, and hit the trails of South Mountain. I know I needed to improve my strength and stability in order to be successful and I’m so glad I did! We’re sore and a little stiff but oh so happy! We’re still digesting it all but already plotting our next adventure. 🥰

Life has been busy the last several weeks and I’ve missed a few (or maybe a lot of) runs. 😬
Finally got back out there today to chase around South Mountain and really enjoyed it, even if I was hugging and puffing up the climbs. 😮💨
Me at the turnaround: “Go ahead, I’ll meet you at the car. I don’t want to hold you back.”
Him: “I’ll wait because you might slip on your face.”
He knows me too well. 😆 If that’s not true love, I don’t know what is!
Happy to report I stayed upright the entire run. 🙌🏼

Feeling refreshed and revitalized after a nice holiday break with the family and lots of time outdoors running, hiking, and climbing. I’m definitely getting the hang of this Arizona winter life! Not sure how we can ever do winter anywhere else now. Gonna enjoy this last bit of sunshine today before tackling my inbox tomorrow. 😆

Hit the streets of downtown Phoenix for the this morning. It was the chilliest morning we’ve had yet this winter with temps in the 40s to start. Felt so good to be back at this event in person, but this time feeling healthy enough to give an honest, hard effort!
After I finished the 5K and pulled myself together (🥴), I managed to find a couple familiar faces in the crowd and chased them around the 15k course a bit during my cooldown. Way to go and ! You ladies rock! 🤘🏼
