When I first met this guy a year and a half ago, his max for deadlift was 255. How to get in shape in a deployed environment🔥
1 - Look at the menu in advance to find out what they’re serving in the chow hall. (Plan around in advance, and avoid eating out 🐽)
2 - Start your workouts in the beginning of the week. (9 times out of 10 there will be a 24 hour gym) If a mission, or unexpected work pops up that needs to get done then your workouts/ training split will be finished sooner if something has to get done.
3 - Stay focused, and write down your goals. If you don’t have one, make one. If you go to different groups in the gym everyone is training different based on their goals. If you don’t know what you’re doing, seek help from a fitness professional. Remember your fitness goal is more than likely going to take awhile, “It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
4 - Surround yourself with people who have the same goals as you. If you’re bouncing around with a different workout partner and one day you’re working on strength, and the another day you’re working on muscle growth, then you’re going to throw yourself off course. Workout by yourself if you have to.
5 - Try to get body fat measurements and or get tested every few months. You need a starting point, and also need to see if you’re on track. (If necessary)
6 - Make use with what you got. There might be a scenario that you don’t have weights to lift. That’s ok. Utilize everything around you to get an effective workout in. Sandbags, poles, logs, ect. There are tons of bodyweight exercises that I know can smoke the sh*t out of you.
7 - Throw all of your excuses out the window. “When there’s a will, there’s a way.” Get to work, and stay disciplined.
