Tri-Physical Therapy

Our customized treatment plans combine physical therapy, Pilates, and medical massage. We not only aim to effectively heal your current condition but to teach preventative techniques that will serve you for the rest of your life.

Physical Therapy / Pilates / Myotherapy

At Tri-Physical Therapy we combined Physical Therapy, Pilates, and Myotherapy for patient treatment. Physical therapy is a way to help you prevent injury or to help you recover from an existing injury. It addresses movement dysfunction and enhances physical and functional abilities. Pilates is a comprehensive way to develop the body through core strength,

🧠Here's your reminder to train your stabilizers!
Stabilizers are those wonderful, little deep muscles that are built to stabilize your joints as you move. They often get forgotten in the gym, but are essential in preventing injury and physical dysfunction. Generally, they're not meant to create movement at the joints.
👌Train smart! Start light, go for longer holds (e.g. 10 sec), and avoid over doing your reps and sets!

💪Do you include rows in your arm and back days? Here's one of the most functional movements you can add to your training and rehabilitation to take care of your posture and strengthen your shoulders and back! Slow it down and get more time under tension! 👉We prioritize resistance that challenges the muscle to work both the concentric and eccentric contraction. The rope & pulleys on the reformer are our favorite way to get in rows. What's your go-to?

Runner's Knee: Mileage May Vary

You might not run, but if you have pain in the front of your knee it could be "Runner's Knee". Getting a solid evaluation on what is responsible for that nagging pain around your kneecap can save you a lot of downtime and needless frustration, regardless of what activities you enjoy. And, if you are tightening up your laces and hitting the pavement and pain has crept it's way into your routine, this might very well be the explanation.
https://www.tri-physicaltherapy.com/post/runner-s-knee-mileage-may-vary

tri-physicaltherapy.com Patellofemoral stress syndrome (PFSS for short) is the medical term used for what most of us call “runner’s knee” and is among the top causes of knee pain. This condition is due to an abnormality of the patellofemoral joint where the patella (kneecap) slides along the femur (thigh bone) during...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"I was referred to Tri-Physical Therapy by my orthopedic doctor. He told me he thought I would be happy with the people there. I had no idea of what to expect but from the minute I walked in and met Kimber and then was introduced to Karen my PT I knew I was in the right place for treatment. The offices and studio are immaculate. The equipment is first class. The treatment method Karen developed was specific to my individual needs and I felt great being under the supervision of someone so knowledgeable and professional. Totally thrilled and looking forward to continuing to improve."

A big THANK YOU to our patients for a wonderful week. Wishing everyone a very happy and safe weekend!

☀️Suns out, toes out!

We use our feet and ankles to perform most daily activities so when foot pain strikes it can be debilitating! Because the feet support the rest of the body it's not uncommon for foot pain to have a domino effect:

➡️stability, mobility and strength decrease
➡️the way you walk, stand, run or jump is altered
➡️the functioning of your knees, hips and back are affected

There are many reasons your feet may hurt, from residual effects of an old injury to just poor-fitting shoes. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common foot conditions and it can be a stubborn one, but with the right treatment and lifestyle changes, you can move past the pain and get back on your feet. 🕺Happy Friday, friends!
If you do one exercise this weekend, do it for your core!

When we hear core training most of us think of flat abs and chiseled six-packs, but it's so much more! The core muscles of the body are the deep muscles of the back, abdomen, and pelvic floor. We rely on these muscles to support a strong, supple back, good posture, and efficient movement patterns. When the core is strong the frame of the body is supported, the neck and shoulders can relax, and the rest of our muscles and joints no longer have to compensate and can focus on doing their job instead. And, if you get a six-pack along the way don't be mad 🤷🏼‍♀️😉

One of our favorite ways to strengthen the core is on the Pilates reformer. There's no cheating on your core in pilates🥵

What's your favorite core exercise?

[06/17/20]   ⛳How’s your golf game? Because golf requires asymmetrical loading and repetitive motions, injuries aren’t uncommon. The constant torque placed on the body while twisting on a drive, bending over to pick up a ball, and squatting down to measure a putt can lead to muscle imbalances. These imbalances can affect a player's game by decreasing stamina, causing drives to be shorter and less accurate, and also increasing the likelihood that they’ll sustain painful strains, pulls and tears. We're here to get you back on the course, keep you there, and even help you get that birdie. Read more: https://www.tri-physicaltherapy.com/post/golf-injuries-prevention-and-improving-your-game

[05/22/20]   ⏱️ Take a time-out for your hip flexors!
.
Tight hip flexors can impact several areas of the body including: tightness in the low-back (especially when standing), poor posture/difficulty standing up straight, tightness/pain in the neck, and pain in the glutes. Here’s one of our favorite stretches that you can easily work into your day:
.
⚪Using the foot of your bed, let one leg hang over the edge while holding the opposite knee into your chest.⚪Gently bend the knee to increase the stretch across the thigh and front of the hip.⚪Engage the core and press the low back in to the mattress throughout the stretch.⚪Hold for 20 to 30 seconds, and repeat three times on each leg.
.
⌚Have a few extra minutes? Foam rolling first helps increase the blood flow and break up trigger points in the area that may be restricting movement. Roll from the hip crease down the front of the thigh towards the top of the knee (avoid rolling the joints!) 1-2min of rolling per thigh before stretching
👌 daily mobility 👌 active recovery

The Difference
Tri Physical Therapy does not employ aides, assistants or techs. Each patient receives one-on-one attention from a highly skilled therapist for the entire duration of the appointment - a full hour. Every visit. Our therapists customize your treatment plan to fit your needs and are experts at modifying and adapting exercises to match your changing strength needs with the shared goal of getting you back to a pain-free activity level. Whether for daily function or competitive sports, you deserve personalized care and treatment and we can provide it!

Pilates Focused Rehabilitation
Our Physical Therapists are trained in both traditional Physical Therapy exercises as well as Pilates-based exercises. Pilates is a low-impact, safe-for-all-ages-and-activity-levels form of exercise that effectively develops body awareness, strength and flexibility while establishing proper posture and movement throughout daily activities. Exercise can be scaled to fit the patient’s physical abilities and limitations. The versatility of Pilates equipment affords our Physical Therapists endless possibilities when creating individualized treatment plans.
