One question we get a lot from customers of the Paragon and Eminence actions is how do we get the ES and SD so low compared to other receivers. Well, one key component is the firing pin. Here we show us OD grinding the long diameter that guides the spring, and also is guided by the hardened bolt shroud bushing, then we show how we OD grind the small tip diameter with a jig grinding machine. This is the only way to get precise and concentric diameters. Then we show the pin in a v block projected about 5" and the concentricity of the small and large diameters of the pin. Keep in mind this is projected, not testing right next to the shoulder where the number would be way reduced but also means nothing. The clearance between the hardened bushing and the hardened 4340 pin is about .0015"
