Arizona Trail Riders

Arizona's largest and oldest offroad motorcycle club. Established in 1987 and incorporated in 1988, the Arizona Trail Riders (ATR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to responsible off-highway recreation and the preservation of off-highway motorcycle riding in Arizona.

We are a family-oriented club located in Phoenix, Arizona with a state-wide membership of roughly 275+ members at all levels of riding abilities. Our focus is trail riding, but we also promote desert racing, enduros, and dual-sport events in Arizona. Land use issues, as they affect our sport, are also a focus of the club. Every year, ATR hosts one or more major organized races/events. In the past,

**IMPORTANT UPDATE** Due to a severe monsoon storm that damaged the Prescott Valley Elks Lodge the location of the event has been moved to Little Dealer Little Prices located at 2757 N Truwood Dr, Prescott Valley, Az 86314. Unfortunately this move impacts our food and beverage plans for the event but we are working on alternatives and will update participants as details are finalized.

We very much appreciates Little Dealer Little Prices stepping up on very short notice to host the Howlin' at the Moon event and the good news for RV campers is LDLP has fresh water to fill up onsite, dump station, and all the parts if something goes awry with your RV :)

2021 Howlin at the Moon - AMA/Beta National Dual Sport Series

For 2021 we are going to have optional single track sections for riders who choose the Saturday 'B' route. In past years 'B' route single track trail has either been in, or out, so this year 'B' riders get to choose. No "hike a bike" stuff just fun, with some challenges, single track.

Hope to see you in November!

Due to monsoonal activity and heavy rainfall, the Coconino and Kaibab National Forests will rescind all fire restrictions as of 6 a.m. Friday, July 16. The Kaibab NF will also lift the Bill Williams Mountain closure.

Fire danger remains high across both forests. Visitors are still asked to remain vigilant and avoid activities that could accidentally cause wildfires – refrain from campfires on dry and windy days and remember that it is always illegal to leave a campfire unattended. In addition, fireworks are never allowed on any National Forest land.

Closures unrelated to fire and smoking restrictions remain in effect including the #RaphaelFire around Sycamore Canyon, #MangumFire on the North Kaibab Ranger District, and areas of the #SlateFire and #BackboneFire on the Coconino NF.

Recreate responsibility!

Forest is open !

The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests has rescinded the full forest closure, effective at 8:00AM, July 7th. Stage II Fire Restrictions will remain in place. Under Stage II restrictions, fires (including charcoal and briquettes) are prohibited on all National Forest lands. Smoking is also prohibited forest-wide except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least 3 feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of any flammable material.
Stoves or grills that are solely fueled by pressurized liquid petroleum or pressurized liquid petroleum gas (LPG) fuels are allowable. Generators with approved spark arresting devices are also permitted in areas that are barren or cleared of any flammable material at least 3 feet around the generator.

On Friday, 6/25, at 8am, closures will be implemented on state trust land in all 15 counties due to fire activity, public safety concerns, and wildland fire resource availability - among other reasons. Yes, we recieved rain today, but unfortunately it's not enough. Once it heats back up and dries out our fire activity will once again increase. #AZFire #AZForestry

[06/23/21]   Forest Service News Release

Full forest closure for the Prescott National Forest to begin Friday, June 25 at 8:00 A.M.

PRESCOTT, AZ – June 23, 2021— Due to fire danger, dry conditions, and persistent wildfire activity during a time when firefighting resources are scarce, the entirety of the Prescott National Forest will close for public safety, beginning Friday (June 25) at 8 a.m.

A full forest closure means that the public is prohibited from entering any part of the Prescott National Forest at any time. Those with private inholdings will be allowed access to their property, as well as personnel providing critical utility support and firefighters performing official duties. In addition, work on thinning and other forest and watershed restoration projects will cease.

Forest Service personnel will attempt to reach as many people as possible to begin vacating campsites and informing individuals who are currently camping in the forest. Campers and visitors should vacate their campsites before the closure begins, and the public should cancel any plans for visiting the Prescott National Forest for the next several weeks.

Though parts of the national forest may receive rain from sporadic storms over the next couple of weeks, this closure will not be rescinded until sufficient precipitation is received to adequately reduce the risk of wildfire, and hot, dry weather conditions are no longer forecast. In short, this closure will continue until conditions are such that the closure can be lifted.

The violation of closures and fire restrictions carries a mandatory appearance in federal court, punishable as a Class B misdemeanor with a fine of up to $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or up to six months in prison, or both.

For information on the Prescott National Forest, check out the Prescott NF website and following us on Facebook and Twitter.
