Dear Parents and students,

After having the week off for Spring Break, I have decided it is best to stay closed for an additional 2 weeks and then reassess. I am hoping to open again April 6th. This decision wasn’t easy, but I do want to keep all of you safe and the families you go home to. I am hoping that everyone is practicing a self quarantine at home and that you are all safe and healthy. I will have more information regarding recital as I find out more.

I will miss seeing you all and working with my students, but I do believe this is for the best and that we will all get through it.

120 years ago today Rena's Grandmother's God Mother, Anna Pavlova, Began her Dance career at the age of 18, immediately following her graduation from the Imperial Ballet School. She was so recognized for her talent that she bypassed the normal rite of passage of dancing in a large ensemble and instead was awarded a spot in a group of three in La Fille Mal Gardée.

Maureen was a devoted student of Nina Marlow (Rena's mother) for 12 years. She has returned to keep the tradition of ballet going strong for another generation by enrolling her daughter, Maren, in classes at the Rena Backer School of Ballet.

We are so excited to welcome Sophia Sing back from her summer of dancing in New York. She worked long hours and showed her dedication to ballet with the Ajkun Ballet Theatre. We can't wait to see how much she has grown in these past few months.
