Frontrunners and Frontwalkers Phoenix is a running and walking club for the LGBT+ community and allies that have an interest in health and well-being through staying active and coming together with social events.
Operating as usual
Hello fellow Frontrunners and Frontwalkers! We are excited to announce we will be co-hosting a running and walking event with a local LGBTQ+ rights organization, Equality Arizona!
This event called "Q***r People Fit" will be held in conjunction with our normal Thursday evening run on June 30th!
Both us and Equality AZ will have a booth set up at Tempe Beach Park as a designated meetup spot (just beyond the normal parking lot) starting at 5:30 PM, and we'll do our normal circle up at 6:00 PM. Representatives from Equality AZ will tell us about the work they are doing and we will tell them about the Frontrunners and Frontwalkers Phoenix! We'll then head out for a run or walk around Tempe Town Lake as usual followed by an optional dinner. It should be a fun event! Come out a little early to the run, mingle and meet some cool people!

Hello there! I guess most everyone knows...but for those who are new or visitors to the area, we are currently holding our runs and walks again. Masks are required for the meetup but can be removed after safely distanced from others while running or walking. Also no official group meal afterwards but if you chose to go out with others just please be mindful of group size, etc. Location information at www.phxfrontrunners.org.
Hi, fellow Frontrunners Frontwalkers Phoenix!
We hope this finds you well and safe. Due to the increased infection rate of the Covid-19, we are suspending formal meetups beginning this Saturday. By this action, we hope to be assisting the decrease of infections.
We will be looking for a downward trend in the number of new cases and transmission rate before we consider resuming are formal walks/runs.

Please be advised we are meeting at 6:30 PM on Tuesdays for the remainder of the summer! We are still meeting at Dreamy Draw under the ramada at the top of the stairs. See you there!
Great seeing many of you again this past Saturday! Thank you everyone for keeping your distance from one another. For the next few weeks, let’s stay meeting at the Spoke and Wheel location, I think it worked well and allows people to choose the canal as an alternative to the Bridal Path if it’s too busy.
Also, we will be doing the weekday meetups like normal. So Tuesday at Dreamy Draw and Thursday in Tempe. Have a great week everyone!
Hi everyone! With the official restrictions being lifted, we are going to start up our runs again starting Saturday, May 16th at 8:00 AM. This Saturday we will meet at Spoke and Wheel near the northern end of the Bridal Path since last I checked the Church Parking lot was closed off. Spike and Wheel doesn’t open until 10AM so we will be gone before they open.
Please note the following modifications:
1. Please continue to observe social distancing with one another. I know a lot of us like to hug and shake hands....please don’t, a smile and nice to see you will suffice.
2. We will not be going to breakfast for at least the next few weeks. There really isn’t an easy or safe way to have a big group of people all sitting together for breakfast.
3. If you feel anything but totally healthy, please refrain from showing up!
4. If you are especially vulnerable due to any preexisting conditions, we ask you seriously reconsider showing up for awhile longer.
5. To reduce multiple people touching the same things, we unfortunately will not provide water and water cups since that would potentially be touched by multiple people. Please bring your own water!
I think this does it. I really look forward to seeing you guys again and hopefully we can get back to our breakfasts soon!

To my friends that may think they are immune from Covid because they keep in get health. Please read this article about this marathoner and take precautions and stay healthy.
Wear your mask without fail.
Wash your hands often.
Use antibacterial lotion when exposed to others.
Wash bottles and other items when you get home from the store.
Transfer take-out and delivery food to your own plates and microwave that food until it’s piping hot.
Protect yourself, your family, your friends and anyone else you come into contact with.
COVID-19 put this 40-year-old marathoner on a ventilator. He wants others to keep their guards up. Every COVID-19 infection comes with its own story. There are stories of isolation, incredible generosity and of course, great loss. But for one young Colorado father, his is the story of beating COVID-19 by beating the odds.
Hi everyone! Due to the stay at home orders for Arizona being extended to May 15th, we will have to hold off meeting up for a little while longer. So tentatively, Saturday May 16th will be when we can meet up. It’ll be at Bethany Home and Central. We will provide any last minute updates as we get nearer. I miss you all and can’t wait to be back with you! Stay safe and healthy!!
Post pics of your run/walk/hike/workout today!!
Hello fellow runners and walkers,
Due to current circumstances with the Corona Virus pandemic and the CDC recommending not gathering in groups of more than 10 people, I have made the difficult decision to suspend our runs and walks for the next few 3 weeks and then play it by ear after that.
So starting this Saturday, March 21st, there will be no gathering. This will include the weekday runs through and including April 11th. After that, if things have improved we will pick back up. I know this is not what any of us want, but I cannot in good faith go against what public health officials are recommending. We will send out updates as things progress and also confirm when and where we will start up again.
Please stay healthy and enjoy a walk or run on your own or with one or two friends. Post the pictures on the page! Let's keep up our spirits and get through this together.
