The HEART Center

Hi. I am Ian Clifton. I wanted to know what you guys are going to be doing the next few weeks and if I needed to fill anything out before I start my volunteering for the school. Please let me know when you can. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone. Thank you. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Hi, I just sent a PM. At your convenience, we look back from hearing from you. Thank you
We just received the most beautiful photos for Emma's senior session with the amazing Keith & Melissa Photographers. Thank you, Keith, for always capturing Emma so beautifully! She was truly in her element as she took photos with her favorite girl, Karma! Horses and The HEART Center is her passion!
Today we said goodbye to our amazing, Boy. He was a blessing to so many and brought joy to all of us. We love you ❤️🐴✨

To place your horse's need for you to let him leave his failing body above your need to keep him with you - that - is the greatest and purest love.
~Cynthia Garrett

A huge thank you to The HEART Center for your support and compassion. We send love and prayers to your family as you too said goodbye to your amazing boy, Jake. He will forever be in our hearts ♥️
NEW #podcast episode: Chelsea Harden is using an unusual business asset — horses — to create magical spaces where kids with special needs can connect and learn. Listen to her story about starting and growing The HEART Center and offering therapeutic riding lessons to children with physical, emotional and behavioral challenges.
THRILLED that our short video, "The Riding Lesson," made Upworthy! It's a sweet story about a nonverbal girl with Down syndrome who has flourished with the expert help of her instructor therapist, Chelsea Harden of The HEART Center. Enjoy!
Alena gets much more than a riding lesson from Chelsea Harden of The HEART Center in Phoenix, Ariz.
Check out our NEW #GoodOnTheGround video profile and article. We travel to Arizona to meet Chelsea Harden, whose business, The HEART Center, uses horseback riding to create open space where children with special needs can connect and learn.
My daughter Salma, 7 yrs old, who has Down Syndrome, rode Jake today and had so much fun! We are so excited to do recreational therapy with Chelsea, the horses and the assistants!
Thank you Chelsea and crew for making such an awesome camp. B had a great time, but misses the horses so very much. Be safe and enjoy your next week of camp!

+ Summer Horse Sponsorships!
Did you know it costs us about $555 dollars a month per horse to keep them fed and cared for? We currently have 9 horses!

Our goal is to raise $10,000 dollars to support the horse costs for the summer.

Our horses work so hard all year long and your donations will support them getting to rotate through time off on pasture and fewer sessions in the heat of the summer.

My heart is so full today 🤍 It has been a super tough week for me personally dealing with a sick baby and I’m just so lucky that The HEART Center is so loved by the greatest people. Our team didn’t skip a beat and we had visitors who spent part of their vacation time finishing up the barn water project for our horses. It takes a special village and I’m so grateful for ours 🤍 Steve Meek Construction- You are amazing! Thank you for your generosity- the horses, students and staff appreciate you taking time out of your vacation to help us with this! Filling water buckets just got much easier 🤗

// Therapeutic riding uses the horse as a catalyst to reach physical, cognitive, social and emotional goals.

We’re so happy to see students like Jack enjoying a riding lesson at our new facility. Our horse Mojo and Jack worked on balance, muscle control during yesterdays lesson.

Prior to a lesson our students can brush their horse, clean the stall and get their horses harness on to lead him to the arena. These among other responsibilities each of our students takes on in the barn helps instill confidence, and a sense of ownership over their experience with Equine Therapy.

✨Donor Spotlight - Lexie’s Voice ✨

Lexie was my very first client that I had the privilege of introducing equine therapy to as a therapeutic riding instructor here in AZ. Our bond became one that grew me into the instructor I am today and I cherish every moment I get to spend with her.

Her mom has helped pave the way for expanded school choice options for kids with special needs and she continues to advocate for alternative therapies and education through “Lexie’s Voice”.

Andrea and Brad have always been there to cheer us on and provide the mentoring support I’ve needed to navigate uncharted territory with The HEART Center.

Their support means the world to me and I am so excited to continue partnering with Lexie’s Voice to bring alternative therapies and education to the kids who need it the most

🐎✨It’s Horse Show Week! ✨🐎

We will have 12 riders competing in the Adaptive Riding Show at the Carousel Charity Horse Show in Scottsdale this Sunday 3/20/22!

The HEART Center was chosen as the charity of choice for this years show and is thrilled to continue working with the Carousel team and to have such a wonderful opportunity for our students.

We’re helping to fill volunteer slots for the entirety of this coming weekends events and are still looking for volunteer support on Thursday Evening and Saturday Evening- at 5:30pm.

Come out and enjoy the beautiful horses and great people, DM or email us for more details!!

It’s easy to get lost in the day to day tasks and forget how far each of our students has come- but in 2 short years this amazing young man has gone from timid and shy to cool and confident out with the horses. He studies every detail, is the kindest soul and the very best helper. He’s one of the first students we turn to to teach our youngest riders about the horses because his calm gentle demeanor helps everyone feel safe.
He is one of our microschool students and every day he pushes himself to learn more and do more. We’re so proud of how much he’s learned and it’s always a great day when we get to have him teaching others 🤍
