SEASON RECAP! ITS OVER 2nd in points!🏆😬
-I don’t even know where to start honestly. We went into this thing not having any idea what we was doing. I had to ask another driver in the pits what hot laps was before I got sent out. Early on we had a lot of car issues, and just bad luck to the point where I parked it and missed a few races in the beginning. It was DNF after DNF. 😑 honestly I almost sold it.
A few weeks roll by and we decide we want to give this racing thing another go, at this point we had made a couple of friends that gave us a lot of advice on what we needed to do to the car to make it somewhat competitive. Took the car out there on dryrotted ling long tires and got 3rd our first real feature. I could be wrong but I think I might have won that heat that night also.
From then on our the car was competitive, and pretty much at the front every race ( at least for a while) we threw some new tires on it and got two wins back to back, but I’ll admit the pill draw was damn good to me for a while. I’d rather be lucky than good anyways. 😂
We changed a few things on the car and went backwards for a couple of races, trying to chase and extra tenth costed us half a second for a while. We had the bad luck monkey throwing tractor tires at us the whole time also. 🐒 Don’t over complicate these cars or start changing a bunch of stuff on them. If it works leave it alone. 🤦🏻♂️
We had a benefit race for sully at Friendship Motor Speedway and my car along with Jeremiah Jones Racing raised $1500 I believe. $10 per name to be written on my car really took off and I really
Enjoyed doing that and meeting all of the fans that helped the cause.
From then on out it was rainouts, or just showing up to keep our points,we had a couple of races that didn’t even feel like races. More like a demo derby with a checkered flag. It is what it is, when you turn 25+ of these things loose on that track it gets tough to handle.
All in all I’ve had an absolute blast. I never expected this to take off the way it did. I really didn’t think I’d be competitive or even stick with it. I’ve met alot of great people that I consider friends at this point, people in my class, outside of my class, track staff, everyone has been nothing but respectful and welcoming to me and I thank each and every one of you for that. We’ve tore this car all to pieces and put it back together I don’t know how many times. 😂
Congratulations Nathan Ward enjoy your championship, it’s well earned. I’ve learned a lot from chasing you around and the advice you gave me early on. I also enjoyed the couple of times I finished in front of you! 😂😂
But anyways all of the regulars in my class we’ve had a great group, we’ve all ran each other clean for the most part all year long and I hope to race with all of y’all again next year. Yall ever need anything you know where I am!!
Thank you to friendship motor speedway for giving us a good place to race all year!
Thank you to Raven Martin for supporting this all season. Even when racing wasn’t fun. You never once doubted any of this and I couldn’t have made it without you!
