SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT!
We love all of our sponsors, but this one may be the most important.
988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline
If it helps just one person...
Dialing 988 will connect you directly to someone who will help you in a mental health crisis and help you find additional help for beyond that first call.
(988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline itself DOES NOT sponsor us. Their resources are better used for their mission than sponsoring a racecar.)
One of the very first stickers, 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, was put on the 8J 's trunk back in 2024.
Karen Cascio Chow, of Concord, NC, wanted to sponsor the 8J and our race team. Karen is the biggest sponsor on her and my (Jen) college roommate from the 1980's and lifelong BFF. (I'm the car owner and driver's wife.)
When we asked Karen how she wanted us to display her sponsorship, it took a minute. Karen doesn't own a business to advertise. BUT Karen is an RN and has worked with hundreds of patients over her career - many of whom have mental health concerns. The light bulb flickered on and she said "988!"
So, I got to work locating the official logo/colors/form on the 988 website to have a proper graphic made.
If you look at the sponsors on the 8J and the car colors themselves, there's a theme: Red, White & Blue, The American Flag, Military and Veterans & their support systems.
Su***de and mental health crises plague so many our service members and Veterans and people in general. Our hope is that someone sees that sticker and dials 988 when they need to.
