Pittsburgh Lady Roadrunner 2016

Our Roadrunners have been putting in the work during their rec league playoffs, and we wanted to take a moment to recognize some of their accomplishments! We’re so proud of all of our girls and the effort they continue to give on and off the field. Congratulations on a great season so far, and good luck as you continue your playoff runs—we’re cheering for each and every one of you to bring home some hardware! 🥎🏆

⭐ Alayah Cager was named Team MVP in her playoff victory today. Outstanding job, Lay! Keep up the great work!

⭐ Addie “Cheetah” Spader recorded her first-ever inside-the-park home run today! What an exciting milestone—way to go, Cheetah!

⭐ Avery Williams had a special supporter in the stands as teammate Stella Klobuchar came out to cheer her on. While the team didn’t get the result they were hoping for, we’re incredibly proud of Avery and her teammates for making such a great playoff run!

⭐ Blakely Mercer and her team picked up another playoff win to advance in the tournament. Blakely had a huge day at the plate, including an inside-the-park home run of her own. Awesome job, Blakely!

⭐ Hayden Tardio and her team earned the #1 seed in their division after a strong regular season and kept their playoff run alive with another big win today! (Nice battle face Hayden 😂)

We love seeing our Roadrunners compete, support one another, and represent our organization so well. Keep working hard and making memories, girls—we’re proud of all of you! 💙💛🥎

🎉🥎 Happy Birthday to our #15, Charlotte “Charlie” Spin! 🥎🎉

Charlie is one of the hardest-working players on our team. She brings a great attitude to every practice and game, is always willing to learn, and continues to improve every time she steps on the field. Her determination, hustle, and love for the game make her a great teammate and an important part of our team.

We hope your day is filled with lots of fun, laughter, and everything that makes you smile! Wishing you an amazing birthday and an incredible year both on and off the softball field.

Our girls had this weekend off but Maci Kuna and Karlee Hixson was still at the fields together cheering on their older sisters Lila and Karmen!

Here’s a grab bag of pictures from the past couple weeks of our roadrunners out in the wild! Usually we post these as soon as we get them but Coach Joe has sucked at his job lately!

⭐️ North Stars Galactic Smash Runner-Up! ⭐️

Not the outcome we were hoping for, but we couldn’t be prouder of the way this team battled through adversity all weekend long.

The girls fought their way through an intense semifinal matchup against the North Stars, earning a thrilling 15-14 walk-off victory in the bottom of the 6th inning. With the game on the line, #35 Maci Kuna delivered an incredible hit to drive in the winning run and send us to the championship game!

In the finals, we faced a familiar opponent in the PA Lady Knights. We came out swinging and jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, but despite a hard-fought effort, our bats cooled off and we fell 5-3 in extra innings.

There were plenty of positives to take away from this weekend, along with valuable lessons that will help us continue to grow and improve as a team.

The heat was relentless this weekend, but these girls never stopped competing and showed tremendous toughness from start to finish.

Next up, we head to Irwin, PA on June 20th for our first kid-pitch tournament of the season. We’re excited for the challenge and ready to get back to work!

The Roadrunners finished pool play with a perfect 3-0 record, earning the #2 seed in the Gold Bracket heading into tomorrow’s championship round!

Now we turn our focus to tomorrow as we take on a talented North Stars team at 3:05 PM. We’re hoping the weather cooperates so these girls can get back on the field and do what they do best.

What an incredible weekend for these girls! We once again matched up with a very talented Diamond Divas team in the championship, and both teams battled hard from start to finish. There were amazing plays being made all over the field, but our Roadrunners pulled away with a 9-5 championship win! 🏆

Huge shoutout to Stella Klobuchar for blasting ANOTHER over-the-fence home run in the championship game! 💣🔥

Most importantly, these girls had an absolute blast this weekend and played their hearts out every single game. Some of our MVP and Hustle Award winners are pictured below, but honestly every girl on this team earned recognition this weekend for their hustle, teamwork, and big-time plays on the field. We couldn’t be prouder of this group! ❤️🥎
