At Camp Sangamon, our weekends look a little different than the middle of the week. Staff share interests and skills that might not be part of their regular activities. This might include cooking a favorite dish from their home country with campers, teaching their favorite craft, or simply sharing time in a unique way.
Here's a peek at our Sunday Seminars. Every week is different.
One thing that remains the same is our campers make their own choices and direct their day, choosing to attend one seminar or try out many throughout the morning. Make only ice cream, or sample arepas by the fire, roast coffee on the porch, drive a nail, then stitch an applique design.
Come see what it's all about. Click on the link in our bio to learn more about Camp Sangamon.

It's not too late to get your kid enrolled at Camp Sangamon this summer!

Every weekend, we stray from our usual schedule and have an epic all-camp game.

The staff go all out making costumes and props.

They develop a story with corresponding games, that get teased throughout the week during mealtimes.

This weekend, it's King Arthur & the Quest for the Hydration Grail.

The campers are on a mission to take back the main house (and all of the water bottles) from the invading forces.

There's an epic water balloon battle to kick it off, followed by dodgeball, team-working games, puzzles, and capture the flag.

Sangamon is where kids get to be truly kids.

No screens or mind-numbing distractions

Just endless adventures and fun.

Send us a DM if you are interested in enrolling your son or visit the link in our profile for more information, dates, and the application.

Our final session of the summer begins on August 2nd.

You get to choose!

At Camp Sangamon, campers have the freedom to go as they please from a variety of activities.

Unlike other summer camps, we don't have assigned activities (besides our special all camp games each session)--we encourage you to explore.

We do this because kids don't get to choose much in school or their every-day lives. And the more decisions they make while growing up, the more confident they become as adults.

At Sangamon, kids have the freedom to step outside their comfort zone? Do you play a lot of sports at home? Maybe at Camp you enjoy weaving. You like quiet, indoor activities? Maybe you discover a new love of mountain biking. The freedom is in the choice. If you're not feeling it today, you can leave. But you tried something new and the opportunities are limitless!

That's the glory of our activity schedule at Camp Sangamon. You never know what your child will come home raving about at the end of the summer.

We are still enrolling for summer 2026, DM us to inquire or visit our website linked in the bio.

Meet the CITs, a look inside the first year of our leadership program.

The CIT program is for kids going into their sophomore year of high school.

This year is special at Sangamon because it comes with more responsibilities and more freedoms as they begin to evolve from camper to staff.

CITs get to shadow & work at different activities to learn from the staff.

They also take over some jobs around camp like dishes and light upkeep of camp.

But it's not all work, they still get to have time to be a camper and join in on activities.

Many Sangamon alumnae will tell you that their CIT year was the most important year of camp for them.

It's when they truly bond as a group and form connections that span for decades.

If you have any questions about enrolling your child into the Sangamon CIT program, send us a message or fill out the form on our website.

Opening Day was Sunday and today is Tuesday, but we're already in the thick of things! Campers and staff have gotten to know their cabin mates, and activities are hopping with action, energy and creativity. We've cooked on camp fires, jumped in the pond, rode horses and played Capture the Flag in the pasture.
If you're not here, enjoying summer with us already, we invite you to check us out and join us soon.
