At MAC Speed & Strength we have the personnel and knowledge to take athletes - of all ages/genders/skill levels - to their highest athletic potential.
Mac Speed & Strength creates more complete athletes by filling the void created by early specialization. Strength and conditioning is the most important yet overlooked component of healthy teenage athletes. A weak core and under developed back muscles can lead to any number of pains and aches and we focus our training on attacking those weaknesses. We specialize in volleyball, lacrosse, soccer, an
d basketball players and with our training methods we create a more explosive and balanced athlete that plays faster and with more confidence. We accomplish this through a combination of agility and jumping drills supplemented with age appropriate strength training. We work with individual athletes and we do hourly rates for team training. We work with ages 4th grade through 12th grade, boys and girls, and all sports. Our adult training is called Barbell Cardio adult classes
Barbell Cardio is a 60 minute adult fitness class designed to burn 600+ calories and add lean muscle while decreasing body fat. It involves a wide variety of high intensity workouts designed to increase strength while maintaining an elevated heart rate for maximum caloric burn. Each Barbell cardio class consists of 4 parts: a warm up, a strength section, a workout and a burnout. Every class with be a full body workout but will have a different muscle group focus so you are able to come multiple days in a row. Barbell Cardio is an efficient full body workout designed to get you moving and feeling better. Our main goals are to keep clients injury free and have them feel great about themselves getting out of the shower. Staff Bios
Nikki McCareins - Sprinter, Jumper, Long jumper at Lehigh University. 4 year State qualifier (class 6A) in numerous events in high school, 3 year qualifier in the long jump. High school record holder in long jump and numerous relays. Personal bests of 12.12 100m and 18'11.5'' in long jump, Level 10 gymnast, 103rd out of 11,000 in 2016 Crossfit Open. ISSA - Certified Personal Trainer, Specialist in Strength and Conditioning, and Senior Fitness Specialist
Justin McCareins - 8 year NFL career, led Jets in receptions and yards in 2006, 4th round draft pick in 2001, 4.46 40 yard dash in 2001 Combine. Top 5 in every category in 2001 Combine including a number 2 finish in the board jump at 10'9''. 2x All Conf at Northern Illinois, 2000 MAC Special Teams Player or the Year, All Conf/All Region/All State WR in high school, All Conf/All Region in basketball and Conference Defensive Player of the Year, High School State 6A qualifier in 100m dash and long jump. Third off season in the books with and we’re so excited continually watching grow on and off the soccer field. We hate to see her go, but we love watching her success in the NWSL. Drop a comment to wish our girl good luck this season, and to give her some extra motivation for her conditioning tests next week. I’m sure she’s tired of hearing Coach Beck tell her to “get on the line” 😬
