📍Check Your Posts!
Goalies — awareness starts with knowing where you are in the crease. Always check your posts before play starts. It builds consistency, confidence, and control of your depth.
Stay sharp. Stay centered. 🧠🥅

📍 Positioning Wins Games
Great goalies don’t chase the puck — they own their space. Stay square, stay calm, stay in control.

🧊 Warm-Up Skating Drill 🔥
Goalies — always start with movement!
Before pucks hit the ice, get your edges firing with this quick crease warm-up drill.
Stay light, balanced, and square. This drill builds rhythm, foot speed, and control — setting the tone for the rest of your session. Small details = big difference. 🧠💪

🔥 Ashe putting in the work! 🔥
Big focus today on rotation while moving — staying balanced through every save and transition. Quick footwork, smooth movement, and staying square to the puck no matter the angle.
Every rep counts. Every rotation sharper. 💪🥅

📍RVH in Tight: Use It, Don’t Abuse It
RVH has its place — especially in tight scenarios around the post — but let’s be clear: it’s not a crutch for every low-angle shot.
🚨 Overusing RVH leaves holes.
It can slow your recoveries, lock you into static post-play, and make you vulnerable to passes or high short-side shots.
🎯 The smarter play?
If you’ve got time and space — get on your feet and beat the puck to your spot. A controlled overlap from your feet gives you better vision, more mobility, and stronger positioning on sharp-angle attacks.
✅ Use RVH when:
The puck is tight to the post
There’s no time to get up
You need quick seal and coverage
⚠️ Avoid RVH when:
The puck is at or above the bottom of the circle
There’s time to establish feet
You’re facing a shooter looking to create from a wider angle
Stay efficient. Stay mobile. Read the play, don’t pre-load.

🧠 HEAD DISCIPLINE = SAVE CONSISTENCY 🧤
One of the biggest habits to clean up for goalies of all levels—STOP over-rotating your head during saves.
🚫 Don’t look sideways.
🚫 Don’t turn your head back.
🚫 Don’t chase the puck with your head like a fan in the stands.
When you turn your head away from the puck, your eyes leave your hands—and the moment that happens, your control and reaction drop fast. That split-second delay can be the difference between a clean glove save or a scramble in the crease.
✅ Keep your chin down and eyes forward through the puck.
✅ Trust your body position.
✅ Let your tracking do the work.
The puck is in front of you. Keep your head there too. 🧊

🎥Goalie Drill: C-Cut Out on Sharp Angles + Reading the Shooter 🧱🥅
This drill’s all about positioning, edge control, and reading deceptive entries.
We’re working on coming out aggressively with a C-cut on a sharp angle, staying square and balanced — but here’s the key detail:
➡️ Right-handed shooters coming down the left side often carry the puck out in front, then pull it back to shoot. This creates a fake with the body — but the puck tells the truth.
🧠 Don’t bite on the body.
👁️ Stay locked on the puck.
🧊 Work not to overcommit — control your depth with the C-cut, then set and track the release.
🔑 Key Points:
✅ Explode out with a controlled C-cut
✅ Match the shooter’s angle, not their fake
✅ Read the puck placement — not just the body
✅ Stay patient, stay square, stay balanced
This is where footwork meets discipline. You’re not just moving — you’re reading, adjusting, reacting.

🧱 BUILDING BRICKS OFF THE ICE 🧱
Every rep. Every sprint. Every drop of sweat — it’s all part of the grind that happens when no one’s watching.
You don’t become a better just on the ice.
You get quicker in the gym.
You get stronger with resistance.
You get sharper by outworking the guy who’s still sleeping.
🏋️‍♂️ Off-ice training isn’t optional.
It’s the foundation.
Speed. Stability. Mental toughness.
Earned here. Applied on the ice.
If you’re not putting in the work now, don’t expect results when the puck drops.
Let’s get after it.
