What's up yall!
As you may have known, I was a former Division 1 Athlete who played for the University of Arkansas, Abilene Christian University, and the University of North Texas as a running back on the football team.
Aside from my very diverse collegiate background, I have been trained by the best at Michael Johnson Performance, D1 Sports (Abilene+Dallas), and Zoom. Not to mention Alex Pena, who, to this day, is the most dynamic and effective Strength Coach I've ever had the privelege of working with. Coach Herb, Coach O and Coach Caralla inspired me to be great, sharing with me their secrets and motivating me in ways that carried over to my personal life.
That's the biggest thing people don't get: Fitness is a vehicle, not only to your dream body, but a complete transformation in your life.
Take Lisa for example. I began training the beautiful Lisa Watson in 2018. I would drive to her complex bright and early, ready to kick. her. ass. The best thing about Lisa, she's no quitter. She beat cancer and showed me that she wasn't going back down from a challenge. Within one month, we'd lost 15lbs of fat and her desire grew.
For an entire year I watched as she not only transformed her body, but her mind. Spartan Races, Martial Arts, and whatever else the crazy bombshell blonde wanted to accomplish, we got to work.
Not everyone is Lisa Watson, but if at the very least, you have the same determination to get in shape, we'll get there.

As a performance coach, I hear all sorts of B.S. as to why people are unable to pursue their dream physique or improve their health.
The most common being money.
Look, I get it.
You need money.
Its a vital part of our existence and without we would starve on the streets.
But the truth is. We all have much more money than we think.
The issue is we spend it on things that neither improve our current state nor we need.
Do you need those new clothes? No!
Is spending 4 hours binge watching Netflix beneficial? Absolutely not.
Yet we do it.
Now what if you took that time and money and applied it something that could improve your life?
What if instead of complaining about not having enough money, you spent it on something that could change your life?
Like health and wellness!
Because you can live happily without a new purse or pair of shoes...
BUT, you can’t live happily without great health.
Put down the remote, get off the couch, and instead of heading to the mall, jump into the gym and start your change today!

Dude, where’s the shrooms?

DO YOU FEEL THE POWER?!
I want to talk about Olympic Lifting!
Olympic Lifts are something I try to incorporate into any athletes workout program for three reasons.
1. EXPLOSIVENESS
They are the ultimate exercises for improving explosiveness, strength and power simultaneously. Every lift requires a full triple extension which is paramount to any athlete in any sport.
Whether jumping, sprinting or tackling your body extends from the hips, knees and ankles.
Both, cleans and snatches, work on this natural compound movement and train the body to do it quicker and with more power.
2. BODY CONTROL
The process of learning correct form is a tedious one. With the wrong form you may only be able to lift the bar above your head but with correct form and activation of the hips your weight may increase dramatically!
By learning the correct technique and practice these rather complicated lifts, athletes begin to understand where and how the power is generated. They start to activate muscles they never knew they had and learn how to control their bodies making minute alterations to perfect their form.
Why is this important?
Any sport is one that requires an athlete to be in complete control of their bodies and have the ability make these minute changes in an instant.
By breaking down each lift, athletes begin to strengthen not only their bodies but sharpen their minds.
3. FLEXIBILITY & MOBILITY
we touched on body control and explosiveness but something that may be overlooked by athletes is flexibility. By opening up the hips and ankles we not only allow the body to move more efficiently and rapidly, we protect it from injuries. Flexibility is key for any athlete wanting to elevate his game!
