Livonia Parks and Recreation's 100 days to Health just kicked off last weekend! As part of the 100 days program, there is an additional fitness schedule that only 100 days participants can join in on! I love teaching to the participants of the program, we get a lot of returning veterans of the program (looking amazing, by the way) but also a lot of new faces every year! I can't wait to start teaching this year's batch of 100 days to Health yogis. Whether you are an old hand at yoga or just starting out, you will be welcomed and find something for you in all of my classes.

There's still time to register for my candlelit yin classes for the winter session. Winter is a wonderful time to slow down and look inward, investing in your own peace. Yin is a style of yoga that is accessible to all levels of fitness and ability. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Classes start next week and end just before the spring equinox in March. Come enjoy the stillness and quiet with me as we explore the body's connections using the powerful tool of breath work and meditation. πŸ’œ

Slow down and unwind with Candlelit Yin Yoga, a gentle practice that encourages you to settle into supportive poses for extended periods of time. This calming class helps students become more in tune with the body and mind, allowing connective tissues, fascia, and the nervous system to relax and rejuvenate. Props such as blocks, straps, knee supports, blankets, and yoga bolsters are available to ensure a comfortable and restorative experience.

Self care and self love are crucial for everybody. Not just when you have time. Not just when it's easy. It takes a regular practice to regulate your body and your mind, and learn to live from your heart. Not just your happy heart. But your sad, your mad, your tired heart. They are all welcome visitors on the path. Spring is coming. This, too, shall pass.

How do you practice ahimsa in your life?

Real life, real yoga!! My kitchen is the largest open floor space in my house, and so I find myself doing a lot of random yoga here. Without a matching fit, without beautiful plants in the background or the beach, just me and my pets and my floor that needs sweeping πŸ˜‚

Thank you to my original 4 students, 2 of which I still see and teach regularly!! I love all of my students so much. I am still a student yet and I gain so much wisdom from my class as I teach πŸ’œ

January's class schedule at a glance... something for everyone!

12/30/2025

Out of all the years I've been practicing yoga, the time I've spent doing yin yoga has been the most valuable to my life. I've learned how to listen to my own inner voice without judgement, how to sit in silence and wonder at the inner workings of my body, and how to accept what I cannot change without relinquishing my power to change what is possible to change.

If you have not ever experienced this style of yoga for yourself, I encourage you to try it from a qualified teacher. There's a lot of styles of yoga out there, and it is my belief that there's a style for everyone.

I hope to see you on the mat!! Tuesdays at 7:30pm starting 1/13. If you prefer an earlier start, I also teach yin (titled restorative yoga) on Saturday mornings at 10:45am, drop in only.
