Our Boxing Gym’s roots started in New Port Richey, Florida in 2001 with Coach Anthony Vazquez and Champions Boxing Gym. In mid 2004 pro boxer Carlos “el rayo” Rivera bought the gym, moved it and renamed it The Sweet Science Boxing Club, which he ran and who was later joined by boxing coach and trainer Russ Chiary. A few years later Russ took over the gym, moved it to Port Richey and renamed it Chiary’s Boxing Club. In 2007 boxing coach and trainer John Cassella took over the gym and in 2009 established it as Four Corners Youth Boxing Club Inc., with ex pro boxer, boxing coach/trainer and Marine Veteran Steve Zouski joining him later that same year. In mid 2010 Coach/Trainer Anthony Vazquez returned to boxing and coaching after a 6-7 year “Hiatus” from the sport for his son and amateur boxing star “Sir” Charles Vazquez. Then in 2011 Coach John, Coach Steve, and Coach Anthony moved the gym, partnered up and established Four Corners Boxing Gym. From the beginning we all worked very hard and diligently together to build, develop, and teach the art and fundamentals of Boxing; and how it was intended to be learned. Boxing - “The Sweet Science” - THE ART OF HIT, DON’T GET HIT… With our combined work, experience, and knowledge we established Four Corners Boxing Gym as a well known, respected, up and coming force in Boxing. Now, Fast forward to late September of 2016; Coach Anthony takes over; forms and establishes Four Corners Boxing Inc. to continue the work we (Coach John, Coach Steve and Coach Anthony) started together. the Journey that awaits us and the legacy we will leave...
