Happy Thursday! 🌧️ 🧼

I didn’t plan on making soap today, but I’m hoping to sneak a big batch in! 😂 I was sorting through all my soap things and couldn’t help myself and pulled a few out that I really want to make.

🍂 Autumn Fig Harvest •a warm, rich blend of ripe fig with sweet fruit, cozy spice and earthy autumn notes. It’s fruity without being overly sweet and has such a pretty fall feel.

🌲 Sacred Forest •deep, woodsy and earthy with fresh forest greens, rich woods and a slightly warm, resinous feel. It smells like walking through a cool, damp forest surrounded by evergreens.

🫖 Bergamot Black Tea •bright citrusy bergamot blended with warm, steeped black tea and soft earthy notes. Fresh and clean, but still warm and cozy at the same time.

I also need to get more organic lavender essential oil ordered ASAP. I ran out making a batch last week and it smelled SO wonderful. 💜 I love lavender.. always have!

And the soap pictured is Yuletide Markt 🎄 One that makes me a little nostalgic because it reminds me of home in Germany and going to the Weihnachtsmarkt. ❤️ The warm Christmas spices and citrus just bring back that cozy German Christmas market feeling.

I’ve been in full soap making mode again this last week and have 12 loaves curing as we speak! 🧼

There’s a little something for everyone in here…

🤎 Wayward •warm and rugged with woods, leather and a little spice.

🫐 Vanilla Bramble •dark juicy berries softened with creamy vanilla.

☕ Before Daybreak •rich coffee and cocoa with a warm, cozy sweetness.

🍓 Strawberry Cream •sweet ripe strawberry and creamy vanilla.

🍊 Yuletide Market •warm orange and spice with that cozy Weihnachts Markt feel.

Thursday I’ll be working on whipped tallows again! And I have a little something new I’ll be brewing up that I’m excited to play around with. 👀

Things have been a little quiet on the socials lately! Life has been busy, and sometimes my brain just doesn’t have enough tabs left open to concentrate on making new posts. 😂

But lots has still been happening around here!

I did get soaps made this week, which was pretty exciting, and the whipped tallow jars are all sanitized and ready to go for the next round. 🤍

And last night we got in some absolutely gorgeous 3rd cutting alfalfa and 3rd cutting orchard grass. 🌾 The test results on both look great, too!

3rd Cutting Alfalfa:
20.51% protein • 39.94% NDF • 60.11% TDN • RFV 146

3rd Cutting Orchard Grass:
17.33% protein • 57.04% NDF • 60.14% TDN • NSC 8.06%

So thankful for other wonderful breeders who let us jump in on their hay orders. It truly takes a village sometimes, and we’re very grateful! 🐐🤎

The girls all got their pedicures yesterday and a good once-over while we were at it! Regular hoof trimming is such an important part of keeping them comfortable, balanced, and moving well.. plus it gives us a chance to catch little issues before they become big ones.

Breeding season is creeping up, so we’re working through all the things • even though the girls are all a little too well fed at the moment 😂 Bloodwork is coming later this month too!

I can’t wait to see more of Hoedie’s daughters freshen next kidding season. The milk girls have been powering through and doing great! 🥛

Now I need to start saving goat milk for soap making because I already have a few new bars in mind. 🧼✨

What soap should I make first? 👀

Some days just go like this… 🤍

I should probably be putting away the baskets of laundry that have been patiently waiting for me… but instead I decided I haven’t made sourdough in forever, so naturally Dunkin and Lady May needed to be fed first. 🍞✨

Then I figured, “Well, I should probably make an adrenal cocktail too…” I just ate a bunch of buffalo jerky, so a little vitamin C never hurts… right? 😂

Somehow it’s already afternoon, the laundry is still sitting there looking at me, but my sourdough starters are happy and I have numerous infusions going. I’d call that a win. 🌿✨

Around here, the to-do list has a funny way of rearranging itself.
