Well, Riot decided she needed to live up to her name once again and freshened a few days early. 😅
I’m still not entirely sure how she managed that considering she was only bred once on a lead line, but at 10 PM she surprised us with a beautiful little doeling weighing just 2.9 lbs.
The funniest part? Riot did the whole thing in complete silence. I checked on her around 8 PM and she was just starting to lose her mucus plug and hadn’t bagged up much. I checked the camera again around 10 PM and… surprise! Baby goat already on the ground. Apparently she didn’t feel the need to notify management. 😂
Riot did have a second kid that was lost at some point during gestation and was delivered with the placenta. Thankfully, Riot is doing well and her little doeling has already had plenty of colostrum.
Now the important question… what should we name her? 🐐💕I have some ideas floating around.

Turns out when you have dairy goats, “I’ll just make my own” becomes a dangerous phrase. 😂🐐
A friend gave us some homemade goat milk ricotta the other day, and it was so good she encouraged me to try making it myself.
So today’s adventure is homemade ricotta! It’s currently straining on the counter, and I’m trying very hard not to poke at it every five minutes. Wish me luck! 🧀✨

Since my mom is still visiting from Europe, we decided spontaneously to take a quick little day trip to the ocean 🌊🤍
While it doesn’t quite compare to the beaches I grew up going to in Europe, there’s still just something about the smell of the ocean air that feels familiar to me.
A little salty breeze, some family time, and a break from the usual farm chaos was definitely good for the soul ✨

I just adore this sweet girl. She’s already showing off some of her mama’s sass and personality- which means life around here is never boring 😂💛
Now I’m crossing my fingers she also inherited those milking genetics because her mama, Lieu, has been absolutely crushing her milk tests this year and peaked at 6.5 lbs! 🥛🐐
Cute and productive? That’s the kind of energy we like around here ✨

There’s a cleanup needed on aisle 5 lol. The girls are hard at work digging around trying to find the very best bites in the flake. This is supposed to be 4th cutting alfalfa, but thankfully they still seem pretty happy with the bigger stems too 😂
Nothing quite as satisfying as the sound of goats happily munching away. Happy Tuesday friends 🤍

Watermelon Sugar is getting dangerously low over here 🍉🧼 and honestly… I can’t even blame everyone because this one smells SO good. It’s one of those bars you keep picking up just to sniff again while walking by 😂
This scent reminds us of sweet watermelon gum with juicy notes of watermelon, honeydew, mandarin, strawberry, and lily of the valley, finished with soft amber and violet for a little extra depth ✨
