What a way to kick off the 2026 season. 🍀

After a couple of weather-related delays, Portland GAA finally got its season underway this past weekend at the Canton Irish Cultural Center in Massachusetts.

The footballers opened their campaign in style with a dominant 5-20 to 1-8 victory over New Haven.

The hurlers faced a strong Providence side and, despite a hard-fought effort, fell by a score of 1-16 to 1-7.

The weekend didn’t end there. On Sunday, members and supporters gathered for our Spring Golf Tournament, helping raise funds to support and grow Gaelic Games here in Maine. A huge thank you to everyone who played, sponsored, volunteered, and supported the event.

One win, valuable lessons learned, a successful fundraiser, and plenty of memories made. Overall, a fantastic weekend for the club and a great start to the 2026 season.

After a few rain delays and plenty of anticipation, Portland GAA is finally back in action this weekend as we head to Canton, MA for our first games of the season.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature has other plans once again.

Due to continued heavy rainfall and expected flooding at our field, this Saturday’s fixture has been postponed. We explored alternative options but were unable to secure a suitable venue on short notice.

The match will be rescheduled, and we’ll share the new date as soon as it is confirmed.

Thanks for your understanding and continued support. We’ll be back on the pitch soon enough. 🍀

Our postponed fixture has officially been rescheduled for Saturday, May 30th. Looking forward to finally getting back out on the pitch and seeing everyone again.

Unfortunately, this Saturday’s match has been postponed due to heavy rainfall and flooding at the field. Despite efforts to find a last-minute alternative, we were unable to secure a playable venue.

The fixture will be rescheduled in due course and we’ll share updates as soon as we have them.
