Portland skiers & snowboarders — I’m open for the season!

I started Glide or Die to offer an independent waxing and tuning shop for people who want their gear done right — with the focus being mainly on doing super high-quality waxing and sharpening with extremely close attention to detail, fast turn-around times (usually between 16-48 hours), and a much greater affordability / bang to buck ratio; plus an immensely simpler, easier drop-off/pickup process.

My process uses infrared heat, no hot irons coming into direct physical contact and no hard metal or plastic scrapers across your bases. This direct yet gentle, wax absorption process allows me to constantly "read" each base as I work it, and take the time needed to infuse wax deeper and more evenly into those thirsty bases.
Long story short— every tune gets way more care than any other shop you've been to. Not only that, but I treat every slider as good or better than as though it were my own setup. I can't help it. I'm just ocd like that.

Anyway... the tl;dr is:

Hard to see but this board was mostly overwaxed, with layers and layers of dirty wax. The previous owner of this board who had it before my customer seemed to have been wearing wax away from certain parts of the base, but not so much on most of the board. So, while someone must have been waxing it frequently, most of the base had dirty layer over dirty layer (over dirty layer) of wax. So, on the parts of the base that weren’t underwaxed or still holding some dried, old wax, the rest of the board’s surface structure was buried under multiple layers that I ended up hot scraping away and then thoroughly cleaning the archaeological site.
Needless to say, the board is now looking gorgeous and its new rider AJ will enjoy having a very sweet ride now that the base has been given proper care and attention. Thanks for your business, AJ!
