Just like that, our 2026 season comes to a close. Yesterday, we had our long time opponent, The Lansing Capitals come over to Portland for a fine match of 1864 base ball.
We were never able to get our bats going in the game. When we did, Lansing played some of the finest defense we have seen all year.
The final score was 16-2, Lansing. Ten of those came in one inning where they hit well, we made a few errors and just couldn’t get off the field.
Thank you so much to Lansing for coming over today. You played well and deserved the win. Also thank you to Arbiter Dr Marcus Dickson. Always honored to have one of the best come to Portland and explain the game to the fans during the game.
While the game and season didn’t end like we wanted, we are thankful to everyone who helped contribute to the team this season. Players, families, vendors for new uniforms and equipment, opponents, arbiters, announcers, and all the others who are too many to name. Thank you!
But never fear. We will be back next year even better. The schedule is already being worked on. See you in the spring! ⚾️🇺🇸⚾️
