First day at UNH and the Wire Clippers are going strong placing 18th at the end of the day after a grueling 15 minute wait time for our last round with and . We faced another broken bot, but we immediately bounced back and got Deva.Jar ready for the next round!! Safe to say, Team #5902 is more than prepared for Day 2.

==> Updated all motor controllers + spark + radio firmware
==> Finished Cancoders code
==> AutoAlign and ModuleIOSparkAbsolute were finished
==> RobotState was prototyped
==> QuestNav was prototyped in the code
==> Cameras began getting coded
==> Intake System completed
==> Utility classes such as GeometryUtil and a dedicated Quest Thread have been completed
==> Troubleshooting via using AdvantageScope!
==> Tuned values and are now reading real (ish) values from the field! Based on Odometry Constants
==> Tuned which constants need to be determined via SysID

While school was closed down for the holiday, a huge thanks to the Ports City Makerspace (PCMS) for allowing us to utilize their facility and equipment to construct the game field pieces!!! They have also donated particle board, and we at the Wire Clippers are grateful for their support and generosity. Stay tuned for what's happening with FRC Team #5902!

The 5902 Wire Clippers have been working tirelessly to hand off their first robot to the software subteam.
Here is a quick recap of our progress during our first week of the season.
Build: Our build members have been completing a swerve drivetrain and fitting it with a kitbot intake, hopper, and flywheel. We began prototyping our own intake mechanisms and flywheel mechanisms, and began planning and developing game pieces.
Build - CAD: Our CAD team has realized our swerve - kitbot (‘switbot’) ideas in Onshape! Go CAD!
Programming: Programming has been busy at work, remodeling our codebase. We began implementing AdvantageKit methods and really learning, “Why do we abstract our hardware in an IO interface?” The ‘Switbot’ codebase is ready to test on the robot!
Electrical: We received our new REV Power Distribution Hub and have updated all our motor controllers to the 2026 firmware. We also wired the ‘switbot.’
We are so excited for what this game has in store for us. See you in Billerica, Massachusetts, for our first competition!

Yesterday, the Wire Clippers met for Kickoff to view the announcement of our next challenge: Rebuilt. We met alongside multiple members of the PCMS (Port City Makerspace), who were there to learn about Team #5902 and collaborate with us to construct the practice field game pieces. Safe to say, we can't wait to show everybody what the Wire Clippers have in store!!

As this school year comes to an end, we at The WireClippers can truly say we've had the time of our lives. From the tough loss at Salem to the glorious win at UNH, one thing remains clear — we never give up. We learn from our mistakes, bounce back, and get right back in the game. Whether it’s our drive team out on the field or the rest of us in the stands spelling and chanting “Sweden,” we all share the same goal: to enjoy the moment, together.
But, we couldn't have done without our seniors who, without a doubt, have put their heart and soul into their time here.
1. Devaja Djutta - Our general captain who has shown nothing but determination and leadership. Devaja will go to UNH to pursue electrical engineering.
2. Lex Wu - Our business captain who near single-handedly rebuilt the business team, Lex, will pursue journalism at Stony Brook in New York.
3. Nicholas Gladu - Member of the coding team, Nick will go on to Rennselaer to study computer and systems engineering.
We are so proud of the three of you and can't wait to see whatever awaits you in the future🎓✨️

The Wire Clippers are sailing off and away into their off season!
- The build team fixed their Raise3d 3D printer and purchased a new A2 bambulabs printer. They also purchased an elevator kit and are fierce at work putting it together. How riveting!
- The business team is preparing for several outreach events as well as preparing for off-season recruitment.
- The programming team is working on QuestNav autonomous capabilities, refurbishing used computers, and developing various turret capabilities with the tank robot.
- The electrical subteam is reorganizing old (and burnt out) motors and fixing various motor controllers. How electrifying!
We are so ready for next year…..
