Great finishers use an extra dribble, stride, or jump stop to create separation, absorb contact, and attack the rim on their terms instead of letting defenders stay attached to their hip.

Secure the ball with the "pizza pan," keep it protected on the shoulder, and flow directly into a strong finish before the defense can stop you.
Smart rebounders know that when the paint gets crowded, a controlled tip to open space can turn a 50-50 ball into an easy chase-down rebound that only they can predict and secure.
Great rebounders don’t pause after the catch—they establish a pivot, execute a strong step-through, and turn rebounds into quick, controlled scoring opportunities at the rim.
Great rebounders don’t let opponents cut straight to the basket—they cut off the middle, create leverage with contact, and use a quick spin move to gain inside position and attack the rebound first.
Don't chase rebounds straight away! Your first move should be side-to-side. This allows you to react to the bounce and prevent it from going over your head. Predict the direction, move laterally, and then track it down.
