Loggers sink Pirates

POTLATCH — Potlatch downed Prairie of Cottonwood in a 2A Whitepine League match.

The Loggers won by set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.

Olivia Smith led Potlatch with 13 digs, while teammates Cadance Carlson and Aubree Lisher each had eight kills over the Pirates (1-3, 1-3).

Mylee Lovell had 26 assists for the Loggers (8-1, 7-1).

JV — Prairie def. Potlatch 25-22, 25-23.

C — Potlatch split with Prairie 23-25, 25-15.

Loggers log pair of road wins

The Potlatch Loggers polished off a picture-perfect Saturday with a pair of road 2A Whitepine League wins.

The Loggers beat Clearwater Valley of Kooskia by set scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-10 in Kooskia, then hung with the Kamiah Kubs through four thrilling sets, winning 18-25, 25-23, 25-13, 27-25 in Kamiah.

“We were down by about five going into Kamiah’s game point,” Potlatch coach Libby Carpenter said. “Our mental toughness really helped us lock in and carry through.”

Aubree Lisher led Potlatch (6-1, 5-1) past Kamiah (4-3, 3-3) with 12 kills and Jaida Andres posted 11 kills versus CV (0-5, 0-5).

Olivia Smith garnered 25 digs between the two matches and Mylee Lovell totaled 37 assists.

Loggers sweep Wildcats

LAPWAI — The visiting Potlatch Loggers swept Lapwai by set scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-17.

Maddie Smith distinguished herself on both offense and defense for Potlatch (4-1, 3-1) with eight kills and 13 digs. Olivia Smith had 12 digs, and Cadance Carlson went 16-for-18 at the service line, including a 10-point streak to help the Loggers climb back for the third-set win.

Lapwai dropped to 1-4 on the season and 1-3 in league.
