💚 Assistant Coach Kelli Burgdorf

A Cobb County native and former Kennesaw Mountain lacrosse player, Kelli’s love for the game grew even stronger when her son joined Hoya Youth Lacrosse. She spent 3 seasons as Head Coach of the boys 9U boys' team and moved up with her son to continue playing an impactful role in the organization. She is passionate about creating positive experiences and helping young athletes build skills, confidence, and memories that last.

A true legend of the game, Coach B brings over 65 years of lacrosse experience, passion, and leadership to the HOYA Youth Lacrosse program. Raised on Long Island, NY — one of the nation’s top lacrosse hotbeds — his impact on the sport spans generations.

Coach B was a member of a Division I National Championship team at the University of Maryland and went on to co-found the Major Indoor Lacrosse League. His coaching career includes time at Towson University and Kennesaw State, along with earning national “Coach of the Year” honors. Locally, he played a pivotal role in launching Harrison High School Lacrosse back in 1998.

In 2023, he joined HOYA Youth Lacrosse to coach his grandson, Benny, and continues to pour his knowledge and energy into developing the next generation of players.

Off the field, Ira is a successful businessman, longtime Coca-Cola consultant, best-selling author, columnist, and international speaker. He and his wife Kim have been married for 43 years and are proud parents of five children and grandparents to fourteen.

Coach B’s legacy goes far beyond the game — and we’re lucky to have him leading the way. 💙🔥

OPENING WEEKEND IS IN THE BOOKS for BOYS HOYA 4th and 5th GRADE!

What a way to kick off the season! 💙💚

This past weekend, our Hoya Youth Lacrosse boys 4th and 5th grade team hit the field for Opening Weekend, and the energy was exactly what we’ve been waiting for! From first whistles to big plays, these athletes showed up ready to compete, learn, and battle together.

The season is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead. More practices. More games. More growth. More HOYA LACROSSE! 🥍🔥

🥍 Sunday Reset: Gear Refresh 🧼

Sunday reset isn’t just about getting ready for the week—it’s time to give that stinky lacrosse gear a fresh start! 😂🥍

Here’s an easy gear refresh:

🧼 1 scoop OxiClean
🫧 1 ounce laundry detergent
💧 Warm water

Hand wash your gear and let it soak for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and repeat as needed.

Once it’s clean, let everything air dry for 24–48 hours in a well-ventilated area or in the shade.

Fresh gear = happy players + happy noses. 😆

Your teammates (and your nose) will thank you!👃🙌

These girls had an absolute blast at practice this week! From big smiles to new friendships, it’s been so much fun watching them come together and enjoy the game.

We’re especially excited to see some of our old lacrosse pals back on the field while welcoming new faces to the Hoya family! 🥍💙
