LOCAL 2010 OSHL STANDOUT TAGAN ABBITT SIGNS WITH DELTA

Delta College Prep is proud to announce the signing of 2010 forward Tagan Abbitt from the Pickerington Prowlers of the OSHL.

Tagan brings strong offensive upside, quick foot speed, and a mature compete level for his age. While his Pickerington varsity statistics are unavailable, he also competed with Team Columbus 16U during split season where he recorded 2 goals and 1 assist for 3 points in 12 games. Tagan also appeared in several games with Delta College Prep last season as an affiliate player. In those appearances, he impressed our staff with his pace, vision, physicality, and ability to create offense from the middle of the ice.

“We’re excited to welcome Tagan Abbitt to the program. As a freshman center who finished the season as a starter for the Pickerington Prowlers varsity team, Tagan also saw action in a few games with Delta this past year and performed very well. He brings high hockey IQ and versatility, having played both center and wing throughout the season. He is a strong, physical presence down the middle with clear offensive upside, and we’re very excited to see the strides Tagan will make with us this upcoming season.”

“We are very happy to bring Tagan into Delta for a full season. He joined us as an affiliate player in a few games last year, and we really liked his game. He has quick foot speed, makes physical body contact in all three zones, and finds his teammates well, especially from the more intense areas of the ice. He plays bigger and acts older than he is, and we believe he will be an excellent addition to this year’s culture and roster.”

DELTA COLLEGE PREP SIGNS 2009 FORWARD JAMES MORROW FROM USPHL 18UAAA

Delta College Prep is proud to announce the signing of 2009 Tennessee native James “Jay” Morrow for the 2026–27 season.

Morrow joins the program after spending the season with the Red River Spartans 18UAAA program, where he competed against older competition within the USPHL Elite environment. In 20 games with the Spartans, Jay gained valuable experience competing against junior-aged players while continuing to develop his two way game and playmaking ability. He also appeared in 14 games with the Clarksville Kings high school program, adding offensive production and continuing to showcase his strong compete level.

General Manager David Dew: “I’ve been in contact with Jay since late January and early February of this past season. His two way ability, coachability, and overall passion for the game quickly made him a high priority for our 2026–27 recruiting class. He’s a player that genuinely wants to improve every day, and we’re excited to continue building on the foundation he started in Tennessee. I’m very excited to get to work with Jay and help push his development to the next level.”

Head Coach Mitch Gillespie: “We’re excited to welcome James Morrow from the Red River Spartans AAA program to Delta College Prep. Jay is a high motor winger who plays with physicality and an edge every shift. He competes hard in all three zones and brings the type of work ethic that coaches love to have in a lineup. We believe there is a lot of upside in his game, and we’re excited to help continue his development this season.”

2008 OHIO STANDOUT LOGAN ADAMS SIGNS WITH DELTA COLLEGE PREP

Delta College Prep is proud to announce the signing of 2008 forward Logan Adams from the Dayton area.

Adams is a proven offensive producer with a strong track record at Archbishop Alter High School. Across 95 high school games, he recorded 109 goals and 78 assists for 187 total points. His natural scoring ability and ability to impact games offensively make him a top end local addition to the Delta College Prep roster.

General Manager David Dew: “Logan came to our Green vs. White Prospects Showcase and immediately stood out. He was well over a point per game during the event, and we quickly made him a priority. We are ecstatic to be the program trusted with preparing him for real Tier II junior hockey. I have seen this type of offensive skill set before. The sky is the limit for both Logan and our program, and we are honored to bring in homegrown Ohio talent like him.”

Head Coach Mitch Gillespie: “We’re excited to welcome Logan Adams from Alter High School to Delta College Prep. A relentless presence in the middle of the ice, Logan played a key role in leading Alter to a district championship with his skill, motor, and consistency. He showed exactly what he’s capable of at our tryouts, competing at a high level and making an immediate impact. We have strong belief in what Logan can bring to our team and can’t wait to see him continue to grow in our system.”

JONAS FARMEN SIGNS TENDER WITH EHL POWERHOUSE PHILADELPHIA HOCKEY CLUB

Delta College Prep is extremely excited to announce another Tier 2 Junior advancement, this time for Jonas Farmen, who has signed a tender with the Philadelphia Hockey Club. PHC finished 2nd overall in the EHL this season, losing just 6 games all year. Jonas has been a 2 year member of the College Prep program and currently ranks among the top 5 in all time assists in program history.

In his first year with Delta College Prep, Jonas joined the team after a stint in the NA3HL where he produced at a point per game pace. He then relocated to Columbus, Ohio to join College Prep during its National Championship run, recording 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points.

In year two, Jonas posted 2 goals and 20 assists while stepping into a top 6 center role during his senior campaign. While we are celebrating his junior advancement, it is also worth noting that Jonas verbally committed to Hiram College NCAA D3 this season, where he plans to continue his academic and athletic career following Tier 2 junior hockey.

DELTA COLLEGE PREP ALUM JASON BERTRAND COMMITS TO OAKLAND UNIVERSITY ACHA D1

Delta College Prep → ACHA Division 1

Delta College Prep is proud to announce that 2006-born post graduate Jason Bertrand has committed to Oakland University ACHA Division 1.

Bertrand spent two seasons with Delta College Prep, serving as an affiliate player during the 2024–25 season before joining full-time for 2025–26's campaign.

Across his time with the program, Bertrand appeared in 57 total games, consistently demonstrating leadership, toughness, and a true team-first mentality. Known for his willingness to stand up for teammates, “Berty” established himself as a respected presence in the locker room.

A versatile player, Bertrand contributed at both defense and forward, showcasing strong two-way ability and adaptability—key traits that made him an important piece of the Delta lineup over both seasons.

#16 Jason Bertrand: “I want to thank my mom for being there every step of the way—from long car rides to late nights. Dad, thank you for watching over me while I live life. I couldn’t be more thankful for you both. Thank you to Coach Mitch, David, and Writz for helping me along the way and making me not only a better hockey player, but a better person. Whether he was playing defense or forward, he gave us honest, hard minutes and bought into whatever role we asked of him. He’s a competitor, he’s physical when he needs to be, and he’s the first guy to step in for a teammate. We’re extremely proud of Berty and the way he’s represented Delta College Prep. DELTA COLLEGE PREP ALUM TYLER CAVAR MAKES NCAA D3 COMMITMENT TO ALBRIGHT COLLEGE

Delta College Prep -> CJHL -> NCAA D3

Delta College Prep is extremely proud to announce the NCAA Division III commitment of 2024-25 inaugural season alumni forward Tyler Cavar to Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he will begin play in the 2026-27 season.

During Delta College Prep’s national title finalist run in 2024-25, Cavar recorded 19 goals and 35 assists for 54 points in 44 games. His offensive production currently ranks him as the program’s second all time leading scorer.

Following his time with DCP, TC18 advanced to the CJHL’s SIJHL, where he appeared in 40 Tier II Junior A games this season. He is set to report to Albright College this upcoming fall.

Delta College Prep is thankful for Tece’s contribution to the program and proud to see him become part of its NCAA alumni history. His commitment marks another major milestone for the program and further reflects Delta’s path of advancement to the next level.

DELTA’S VOJTECH KLUČÁK AND MATEJ KRAJCOVIC INVITED TO VISIT USHL PROGRAM

2009-born European defensemen Vojtech Klučák and Matej Krajcovic recently received a personal invitation to visit the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League.

During their visit, both players were given a full tour of the organization, including facilities, rink operations, and team environment, before attending a Phantoms home game that evening.

Delta College Prep is proud to have two of its young prospects visiting the highest level of junior hockey in the United States. This showcases Delta’s continued commitment to player exposure.
