π 2026 SEASON FINALE RACE RECAP π
Our final run of the season unfortunately ended in disappointment, but we had a strong run going before it all came apart.
We started the day qualifying P6 and had a decent car underneath us all day. When it came race time, Dan found something on the high side and worked his way up to P4.
With just 8 laps to go, Dan was running the high side through Turn 1 with another car right near his bumper. A competitor drove extremely deep into Turn 1, got into the car running behind Dan and caused that car to spin. Unfortunately, as it spun, we got clipped and caught up in the wreck, ending the strong run we had going.
We were able to finish, but instead of the P4 we had fought our way to, we ended our final race of the season P10.
Definitely not the way we wanted our season to end. It's a shame because we had a good car and were in position for a solid finish with only a handful of laps remaining. But that's racing sometimes.
What a learning year this first season at South Boston Speedway has been. We've learned the track, learned how it changes throughout the day, and learned the different driving styles of the competitors we race with. We've had highs, lows, frustrations, great runs, new friendships, new fans, and most importantlyβwe've had fun.
The notes have been taken, the lessons have been learned, and we'll come back stronger next season.
Thank you to our sponsors Wendy Patterson, Kenn Biggs Connor McNary of Biggs AutomotiveRepair LLC, and Master Graphics. Our crew Bubba Urban. Thank you Bret Hamilton Tina M Hamilton, Will Walker, Mike Whitaker, Chase Whitaker, family, friends. Brian Tanner for our horsepower and every fan who supported Dan Rogers Racing throughout 2026. We couldn't do what we love without all of you.
That's a wrap on our first season at South Boston. See y'all in 2027. πβ€οΈ
