It’s said that it’s the most wonderful time of the year. But for many, it’s also the most stressful. From wrapping up work to wrapping up presents much has to get done at once, and we often feel overwhelmed and forget what this time is really all about.

During this holiday, take a moment to stop and set your intention instead of just trying to keep up. It’s time to take a minute and ask yourself: What do you want to come out of the season with?

Remember to breath and move slowly if you need to during this holiday and most importantly, ENJOY your friends and family!

I lived down the street and would walk by but it's sometimes hard for me to try new things. Although I did take Tai Chi and Yoga in the past, I just wasn't sure if this was the right place. I finally tried a few classes and I was more than pleasantly surprised how good it was. I had gotten a bit out of shape so it really felt good for my body to be doing some healthy exercises again. Then I found out they do even more than just the exercises. They also teach many classes on health and wellness from an Asian perspective. Similar to things I had also done in the past. How great is that!!! Such a great place, wonderful programs, and excellent teachers! I'm hooked, sooo good I signed up for a 3-year membership!

How to stay calm when you get LOST while hiking in Sedona - Thunder Mountain Trail to Chimney Rock

This is one of the first few hikes Dana has done since spine surgery, so I wanted to take her on a trail I had done before without her. Oftentimes the popular hikes in Sedona can get really crowded - that's why I picked Thunder Mountain Trail to Chimney Rock.

It’s close to the center of town, the views are majestic, and it’s not as popular as other hikes so parking is easy and free!

We decided to take the trail counterclockwise around the base of the mountain, although you could always take it the other direction too. We started at Thunder Mountain Trail and looped around to Upper Chimney Rock Trail.

The trail is fairly easy if you only do the loop, but Dana decided she wanted to try to get to the summit to see how far we could make it. I was a bit nervous since she hasn’t hiked much since spine surgery, so we took our time, and I was in awe when she made it! Unfortunately, the summit trail isn’t clearly marked at all, so we may or may not have gotten off the trail several times - and although I felt bad for her, I still laugh each time I watch this footage.

A few tips -
Bring plenty of water. If you decide to go to the summit, give yourself ample time as it may take a while depending on your physical abilities. Wear good hiking shoes - we love our Salomon Trail Running shoes! If you get off trail, you can always use your phone navigation as a guide (that's what I did)! And if you get a chance, give yourself some time to enjoy the beautiful red rocks on the way up. Laying down on them is naturally healing and helps restore our energy.
