This photo was taken in New York during the winter months before September 11, 2001.
At the time, it was simply a picture from a trip — the Twin Towers standing quietly in the background, part of a skyline that felt permanent. None of us knew how much the world would change just months later.
Every year on September 11, I think about the lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the way our country came together in the days that followed.
Some photographs become more meaningful with time. This is one of those for me.
May we always remember those who were lost, honor those who served, and never take an ordinary day for granted.
Never Forget. 9/11 🇺🇸
