BlePhrITis:
What do we know about it?
It’s an inflammation of the eyelid caused by oil gland of the inner eyelid, becoming inflamed.
What is the cause?
Poor hygiene
How do we prevent it?
Helping our clients understand the importance of washing their lashes, because clients don’t know what we don’t teach them.

Organization hack!
Listen 🎧 not only do I have my lashes organized my diameter, I also have them organized by length & curl. I feel like this is so important because it makes for quick lash ordering & it makes it significantly easier to grab what you might need mid appointment. Is it OCD or is in genius? 😍

Lets talk aftercare!
Why is it so important? Well I'm sure you have heard time and time again about how not washing your lashes can cause retention issues, infections ect. Well here is the deal, if your client is not washing their lashes you in turn are going to have to work SO much harder! What artists wants that?
-Having them wash before every appointment ensures that you are getting the absolute BEST adhesion to the natural lash, better then any primer could achieve.
-Having your clients wash everyday or every other day ensures that the work you just put on their eyeballs has the best chance of staying put & not sliding off due to the natural oils produced. This means your clients will come back to you with WAY more lashes. AKA less of a fight to fill.
So to sum this all up $20-40 for a cleanser every 3 months is nothing compared to more fills, possible doctors visits and stress added to you as the artist because aftercare wasn't made a top priority to the client.

Hi guys it’s Heather 👋🏼
I figured we would spice it up today with some colored lashes. They aren’t talked about as much as dark lash lines but boy aren’t these pretty?
Since they aren’t as common of a style there is few trainings surrounding the topic, I have learned from trainings, from other colored artist and of course trial & error. The cool part is if this is something you are interested in & wanna dive head first into color this is something we could cover during a mentorship! So essentially getting a day of color training for a portion of the cost AND in a 1:1 setting.
Are you ready to learn color yet?

PRO-MADE fans can be a life saver. Dramatic I know. But when you are first learning volume it is so much easier for your hands to get tired & you need to practice so a HOT tip to killing two birds with one stone is to actually save your practice fans (the good ones of course) Dip your little fans in a glue, swipe the tip with the glue between your pinched thumb a & finger, place in an empty lash case, and TADA! You not only practice your fanning but also saved some of your work to give your hand a little bit of a break during your next full set or fill.
BONUS: How I like to set them up to actually use them on a client is, keep an empty lash strip on my tile & place them on their for each pick up!

Behind the scene look at some colored lash creation! The coolest part of lashing to me is the fact that when you know the foundational skills, beyond that is pure ART. Sounds cheesy but its true, after you get past the basics of how to protect you & your client. There are no limitations to what you could create!
XOXO,
Heather

One of my all time favorite ways of taping! Gently pulling up the lid can help pull straight lashes off the pad, will help you see the lash bases for easier and closer application!

Tips to increase your speed🏎
I feel like one of the bigger challenges of lashing can be getting your timing down. A way I love to help myself cut down on time with out cutting corners, is starting with the inner corners. I work from eye to eye on the inner corners to get those more challenging but very important lashes out of the way. Then I work from the outer corners in. This allows for the harder work to get done first so then you aren’t rushed near the end of your service trying to get hard to reach inner or outer corner lashes. This is my fav way to feel like I am working as efficiently as possible😉
