Pumpkin season is here, and I am very happy about it. 🍂

I love Fall — the colors, the cooler weather, the cozy feel, the decorating, and of course… pumpkin-shaped sugar cookies.

But I do have a confession.

I don’t actually love pumpkin pie. I’ll happily have my one slice for the season, preferably with an unreasonable amount of whipped cream piled on top, and then I’m good until next year.

And Pumpkin Spice anything? Also not really my thing. Please don’t revoke my Fall-loving membership card. 😂

Pumpkin sugar cookies, though? Those I can get behind all season long.

There is just something about a simple little pumpkin cookie that feels perfectly Fall, and I love how these turned out.

So here’s to pumpkin season — even for those of us who prefer our pumpkins decorated in royal icing instead of baked into pie. 🧡

A potluck staple… with a sugar twist. 🥚🍪

At first glance, you might think I’m showing up with a tray of deviled eggs. Look a little closer — these are decorated sugar cookies made to look like everyone’s favorite potluck classic.

White royal icing “egg whites,” piped golden “yolks,” and just a little sprinkle of “paprika” on top. No mayo required. 😉

I love cookies like these because they’re unexpected, a little funny, and guaranteed to get people talking before anyone even takes a bite.

So the next time someone asks, “What are you bringing to the potluck?”…

Deviled eggs, obviously. Just make them sugar cookies.

Big news, sweet friends!

Amy Kay Bakes, a.k.a Matt and Amy Clark, are moving! It’s a bittersweet moment. We’re sad to say goodbye to the baking corner we’ve grown so fond of, but bursting with excitement for this new chapter.
