BPL Home & Away: Why It’s Never Going to Happen❌

There has been talk for years about adopting a home-and-away format for the BPL, but realistically, this is an impossible task.

The Main Reason:
To implement a home-and-away system, the BPL would need at least two production teams, which would instantly double broadcasting costs. BPL operates with a bare-minimum production team as it is, so it is highly unlikely that the BCB and the BPL governing council will invest double the amount just to make home-and-away games happen. Alongside extra production crews and camera setups, the tournament would also require two sets of commentators.

Logistical Challenges:
Logistics present another major hurdle. The BPL has historically struggled with managing simple arrangements like hotels and local transport. A home-and-away format would drastically increase travel demands, requiring far more effort and coordination.

Given that the BPL has struggled for years to maintain a single, high-quality production unit, it is hard to imagine a complete operational shift to support home and away fixtures.
