I have such an itch to volunteer with again. A great throwback on a gloomy Monday to brighten up your space✨🐘

is a non-profit organization that works with local communities in SE Asia to provide sustainable projects and educational opportunities. They pride themselves on the principle of positively effecting other lives for the better, elephants too😉

We spent a week in Surin, Thailand where each person sponsored an elephant & mahout for the week. Cutting bamboo, feeding snacks 🍌, walks, and river baths were treasured moments. does a great job to help the mahout (caretaker/owner) with the care of the elephant & eliminates the need to exploit the animal in elephant tourism. Often times mahouts turn to elephant tourism to make an income to support their families. There has been a strong push for elephant sanctuaries in recent years, which offers a place for the large animals to live in a natural environment without abuse.
