CRPA and litigation partner SAF won a preliminary injunction against the Los Angeles County Sheriff to make sure that processing times are within the legal range. If you remember, CRPA was getting reports that LASD processing for CCW applications was taking years for potential applicants from the date of initial application to the date they actually received the license. Because of CRPA's legal action, funded by members like you, we have LA County now in compliance within the state-mandated time periods. Additionally, this case also addressed out-of-state non-resident carry and the City of LaVerne's excessive fees, which LaVerne was forced to change and pay a settlement. Cases like this set a precedent that allows CRPA to continue the fight for your rights in other jurisdictions, like our other case against Santa Clara County (Blank v. Santa Clara) for excessive fees.
