Great weekend for the team this weekend. Breakouts' high school summer ball team swept their 3 game series against Uprep. Had a great weekend. Hoping to take that winning energy and fight into next weekend's games in Sonoma.

Our 16u team lead by Manager Kevin Garner had a great summer season with a 7-7 record. Getting better every day and jelling more and more in a short time lead by team captain Kashus Kochan. They finished their season with a championship showing in the NCS Back to School Bash (Galt, California). Landing the 3rd seed going into bracket play on Sunday they had to win 3 straight games to take the tournament. With complete game pitching performances by Collin Gunter (Semi-Finals) and Kashus Kochan (Finals Game) the team captured what they came to achieve, a championship in their seasons final tournament. With plate performances hitting for the weekend lead by Braydon Craig (.444) Kashus Kochan (.444) Brycen Thomas (.440) Collin Gunter (.333) and Ben Simonis (.333) they were competitive and showed great resilience all the way through. With the go ahead run (Ben Simonis) hit in on a single from hot bat Kevin Garner Jr. in the championship game the team went on to celebrate a much deserved victory. Great job team!

Special shout out to our 3 All-Tourney players. Caleb Zick, Eli Blissett, and Cole Matayoshi. These were players that were voted on by the other coaches in the tournament. They definitely got it right. These three have been leaders and standouts for our team all year. The growth and leadership they have shown and worked for has not gone unnoticed and is well deserved. A special shout out to Cole Matayoshi our team MVP for the tournament ended the season with a one of a kind showing. In six games over the weekend Cole wracked up (5) singles (1) double and (3) triples with a .615 average and .667 OBP. He played a gold glove shortstop possibly the best in the tournament! He was absolutely outstanding and showed off the talent and skill we have always believed he had. Caleb and Eli in there own rights were also standouts on the field at first base, behind the dish, and in center field. Supper proud of all three of these young men.

Tahoe-Reno YWS tournament was our last tournament of the year. I thought the boys did a great job. We are a D3 team and the bracket only had 3 other D3 teams in it. We played well ending the pool play as the #4 seed in an 8 team pool. Loosing our first bracket game put us into the silver bracket side of the tournament. The boys played well knocking out one of the D2 teams landing us in the champion ship game on the other side of the bracket play. With 4 lead changes it was a fight to the end. We ended up loosing 5-6 in a game that certainly could have gone either way. I could not have been more proud of the way they finished the year. Great job boys! We had a few guest players this weakened that we enjoyed having out on the field with us. A great big thanks to all the coaches, parents, and most importantly the players who put it all on the field.
